Park Run (Newy) 1:06:11 [1] 5.03 km (13:09 / km)
shoes: bright pink

A triumphant return to Parkrun for rockman and there was never going to be any other place than right beside him today. For some it was a triple (Lake Mac, Blackbutt, Newy)- Nicole and Andrew from NOC, but for rockman just this one was a little while in the planning. To accommodate those (fool) hardy people the Start was delayed by about 18 minutes so that made it even hotter and sunnier so I was pleased to be wearing long sleeves and hat - wanted to wear sunnies but thought rockman might spring my cunning plan.
I was very surprised at how I had to keep my wits about me to keep up with him but feared he'd overcooked. Certainly his hands are a mess now and I think he's a bit dehydrated but he did it - and in smart time. I am so very proud of him. Junior rang from Sydney to "walk in with him" but due to late start was too far out from Finish. Nice applause on finishing and lots of praise and encouragement out on the course by those who recognise or know.
For the record: my splits:
Start - Eliz - 14:26
Eliz - turn - 18:22 (32:39)
Turn - Eliz - 17:57 (50:46)
Eliz - Finish -15:25 (66:11)

street run (Warabrook - II) 44:04 [4] 5.05 km (8:44 / km)
shoes: bright pink

This event had been in the planning since Warabrook I where I had helped an AR team plan their first run so I didn't want to use that route as I felt I would be cheating. Also i knew that I'd been missing a week while Christmas 5 Day was in flow. So I took a leaf out of MessEng's book.
Wasn't quite sure how I'd go with this being like a Parkrun Freedom. So I ws pleasantly surprised. Executed the loop I wanted to, didn't have to truncate and didn't have the chance to add in. Had a 2 min planning time too.

Happy with run - and especially pleased that my original route would have netted more points and was very enjoyable. Interesting comparison 5.05:5.34 and 44:04 : 43:28 and 27:26 points

gym class (Body Pump) 1:00:00 [3]

Penultimate class for the year so made it worthwhile. Upped chest, biceps and triceps weights and made it all the way - so very happy with that.

gym class (Cross fit Training) 1:00:00 [4]

Star warm up - such a big class as it being a public holiday and all. This was also evident with the number of (male) partners to usual participants and the number of people for whom this was probably their first taste of this class - oh they are going to be sore tomorrow and the next day - whatever that day is.
Star warm up x2; 7x3 matrix biceps grass run, 7x3 matrix biceps and shoulders grass run, 7x3 biceps, shoulders, squats grass run; partners legs 10-8- ladders, static lunge, grass run; finish early squat jumps/burpees and hover.Full on abs section and stretch, of course.
Only wimped out on squat jumps - just keeping knees safe.

Park Run (Newy) 34:26 [5] 5.03 km (6:51 / km)
shoes: bright pink

Intent on making progress today - so concentrated on distance and stride length - both of which were achieved quite well. A little disappointed in last sector but OK overall. Pretty hot - nice to see some Newy people + a few Callaghan refugees.
Eliz - 7:31 felt fairly good but time was way over what I thought I should be able to produce.
Cone - 16:59 Not too bad and pleased it was a 16 - just. I didn't feel like I'd gone too hard but just didn't have the perseverance to keep stringing sections together.
Eliz -26:53 Could tell I was fading, kept changing with leepback and Bax - poor Bax was getting confused by me.
Finish - 34:26 finished OK but know I was too easy to stop.
Really noticed the prams and people today, though some of that was a good filip for me.

Now for a day of jigsaw, cricket, yachting, prawn sandwiches and loads of fruit and just maybe a nap and a crossword. Yes that's Boxing Day organised.

warm up/down 15:00 [1]

Calculated and useful.
