warm up/down 10:00 [2]
shoes: bright pink

Still not enough but I did run 2 hills that I normally walk part of during parkrun - got to put that into the mindset.

Park Run (Callaghan = normal versio) 36:58 [4] 5.0 km (7:24 / km)
shoes: bright pink

Back to the "original" course but still sadly omitting the comm bank section which i like. Windy day - so it was good to be in a sheltered position. Normal number of people.

Start-steps Rainforest walk -10:23 Didn't feel all that great and sadly walked a little, but just a little.
Steps - cone 7:36 (18:00) Same as last week so a bit disappointed as I didn't have the tough hill section in the beginning.
Cone - steps Rainforest Walk 6:56 (24:56)- back to usual sort of time and feeling a bit better. Much faster than last week - happy with that.

Steps - Finish - 12:01 (36:58) Happy to be under 37 again. Felt much better in the good parts but these were fewer, and not much worse in the bad parts.

All the talk with Ken C before the start of actually going faster if have walking sections is NOT good for me - too tempting.
Very nice chat afterwards with Catherine and Ian D.
rockman off at newy to do his 50th volunteer parkrun as well as being tailrunner for the first time - combining his 2 new talents!!! funny boy!
Happy National Parkrun peoples... who do know what I'm talking about.

gym class (Mr Minit) 1:00:00 [4]

Word was that class was to be given by Mr Minit aka Smiling Assassin.
His watch certainly gets a workout - certainly more than he does. I keep thinking he must be injured.
Asked to partner a newcomer - Victoria - and she led off with - "gee you're strong" (in biceps challenge). She did really well but she is going to hurt tomorrow and quite possibly all the weekend!
Lewis' classes are robotic - good workout but very boring! But today wasn't heavy on legs. Interesting that the last challenge was the clean and press 1-10. We had 30 sec do do 1 C&P, then another 30 to do 2 then another 30 to do 3 etc right up to 10. Interesting that even the really good people struggled at the end to complete within time - so that's 3 sec per lift!!!
Core at the end was tough - not much straight leg flutter going on in the room and especially not around me. But I did do all the pushups.

Note

Biodiversity Day at Blue Gum Hills RP. About 400 I'd guess attended a really pleasant activity day. Lots of local groups and passports for kids. We had many takers for our permanent course as well as the 'today' course. 3 of us handled most of the crowds. Showers about every hour, but none of the forecast high winds, for which we were very grateful. We were situated next to the Amateur Beekeepers which drew quite a crowd as they had honey tasting. I ended up feeling a bit sick -only because of my dislike of honey and people were talking about it (I get the same with fudge - spectacularly at one Aus champs carnival). Don't have to eat it just have it around and my fertile mind takes over.
Lunch was scrummy and time went quickly - until time to pack up. Then it rained and couldn't get car in for a little while. Good promotional day and lots of networking - new map area offered x2, rekindle a permanent course and found a pathway to the top at a local area. Good day all round.
Plus I got some plants for the front garden.... free!

Note
(rest day)

Lovely weather for seaside walk - Strezleki and then south along Anzac Walk, Bathers Way and foreshore stopping off for fish and chips at Bar Beach then more walking to another kiosk for coffee (rockman had an icecream too) and then more walking then called in at the Beach Hotel for rockman to have a midddy of Old while waiting for bus. Nice waves and lots of people taking in the beach and pools today. But tomorrow will be very different! rockman tells me it was about 3km which will be interesting for my feet tomorrow as I was only in sandals.

gym class (Cross Fit Training) 1:00:00 [4]

Legs, legs my poor wobbly legs. I'm glad it's Monday and not Friday.
11 AM

gym replacement activity 1:30:00 [3]

Digging and crouching and pulling - got all the planting done as well as the protection netting (I hope). Plants went pretty much where I wanted them to go - based on the pitchfork test!

Note

Gave myself a rest day today after yesterday's heroics, despite the decision at 3:30 this morning that I would start painting the house. Rain occurred about the same time and so that was the end of that. Next best was to visit nurseries and select plants for completion of the revegetation of front garden. Duly done!
