warm up/down 13:00 [2]

This was very encouraging and felt good. didn't use a puffer today - well I couldn't find it. Nothing different.
8 AM

Park Run (Callaghan) 38:00 [4]
shoes: grey/white

Bit disappointed with this as warm up felt better than normal.
Nice day, just a tiny bit cool but still which was a bonus after the past few days. Ages since a genuine parkrun and more ages since Callaghan.

Start-steps Rainforest walk -10:47 15 second improvement on last time but still a long way off the 9:50 I'd like.

Steps - cone 18:41 (7:54) didn't feel nearly as good as I'd hoped and longer than last time.

Cone - steps Rainforest Walk 25:42 (7:01) Focussed on ground most of the way. Felt OK but a short walk in the rainforest - disappointing.

Steps - Finish - 38:02 (12:20) Losing momentum but was pleased to pick off 2 men ahead of me and beat them to the finish. Just persisted and persisted.

Bike 25:00 [3]

Feeling very stressed I decamped to the gym. Got on a bike and tried to veg out. At the 15 min mark my brain sent an explosive message - I have to give numbers in today for the Reunion for catering purposes. I'd totally forgotten about it with focus on when i have to pay which is next Wednesday. Thank you brain for not switching off. Needless to say I wasn't very focussed after that but hung in there.

rowing 10:00 [3]

Enjoyed this - but enough - gotta go and do stuff.

Note

Big day today with about 240 Yr 7 kids. Weather was very kind with not a lot of wind. All 3 of us overdressed. Kids liked the activities but such a rush - last year we had a whole day. School staff very impressed and want more but we will have to weigh it up.
3 PM

walking 30:00 [2]

Brisk walk around Brickworks Park fieldchecking and map correcting on way home from Blue Gum Hills RP Gala Day. Feeling very yucky - hot and dusty - but Brickworks Park always perks me up. Looking forward to this group on 18th then i can call it quits until mid October for groups.

gym class (Cross Trainer) 1:00:00 [5]
shoes: bright pink

Gave feedback to instructor because she needs to know -
me: I do;'t know how you'd rate that class.
Cory: slightly stunned look
me: I'd rate it as superb!
Cory: Thank you - {laugh} thank you so much.

And it truly was probably the ebst class in a very long time and she gives some beauties.
She tried something new - I'm going to call it a caterpillar - 2 rows of steps across the room. Start activity was 10 seconds each of various activities then move down the line to next step - that was a LOT of fun.
Second round we had a partner beside us and a different partner opposite us.
Activities were based around shuttles of various activities between partners. Worked a treat and very different.
Basically 60 mins of Intervals except for 5 mins mid way for Abs - again different.
Felt so motivated and really good and I suppose I should report that I had second fastest time for the Toe tap/run/lunge jumps/run of 20/50/20/40/20/30/20/20/20/10.
Improved also from 2:30 to 2:12 on the Step up/Squat jump 10/10/10/8/10/6/10/4/10/2.
One thing very notable we went to the end of the line rather than the spike back to start ie finished at 2 rather than redoing 10. That certainly won her some friends.

gym class (Cross Trainer) 1:00:00 [4]
shoes: bright pink

Focus on cardio and triceps.I didn't improve on first cardio challenge on repetition but did on second by 12 seconds - which was just motivation rather than actual improvement, though i would have been more fatigued.
knees and feet still suffering a little after yesterday's hard rocky ground.

Event (NOY 6) 1:13:11 [4]

Ummed and aahed about what I'd do today. Needed to break in new shoes but departure from home was getting later and later. Also wanted to be quick about leaving so as to maximise our garden rambling time.
Well most of that didn't go to plan. So I started in a wayfarer mindset on the Short Hard and that was a waste of time so snapped out of it and put some effort in. Very happy with first 2 controls then i entered Goldilocks land - too low on #3 then too high on #4, #5 was OK and #6 then fiddled with the last one!! #8.
Pleased I knuckled down - i keep saying I am getting less bush exposure ie terrain running so i shouldn't shirk it so I spent very little time on tracks but when I did I was pleased with how i used them.
Temp was getting a bit high by the end and the whole feel was of scary summer.
Feet - no blisters which was a surprise, a bit of rubbing here and there but very tired/sore and pleased to be off the very hard and rocky ground. Changed at event and off to Open Gardens.
