warm up/down 12:00 [2]

A mix of reasonable and good. But mentally not interested. Looking for excuses

Park Run (Callaghan) 38:47 [4] 5.0 km (7:45 / km)
shoes: grey/white

Feeling every bit the disgruntled one I focussed on my tight knee and the queasy stomach and was almost all for just walking. Lovely temperature after early morning storm around 4am.

Start-steps Rainforest walk -10:46 Very happy to run all the way - so pleased. But now checking times - same as last week. :-((

Steps - cone 18:49 (8:03) mix of run walk - but fairly happy until now - checking time!

Cone - steps Rainforest Walk 26:15 (7:25) Some patches of walk - admonished myself and got back into it.

Steps - Finish - 38:47 (12:31) pulled back some time.
Some things to be really pleased about. Still not confident to do what I really need to - lengthening stride will help. Going to be pleased with the first section even though it wasn't any faster.

gym class (Body Pump) 50:00 [4]
shoes: bright pink

Missed warm up but made up for it pretty quickly. 3 sections of 4 rounds each of 5 separate exercises plus runs between sections. Time went quickly. Sweat came profusely.

Release #104 - throw it out NOW. Horrible, music terrible, jumpy, no transition. BUT it was hard work so well done to it. Now back to Releases 60-95 thank you, Mr Mills.

Street Series (Valentine) 45:07 [4] 5.24 km (8:37 / km)
shoes: grey/white

The hills are alive with the sound of puffing. Had to work hard for points as always on this map. Jess and Clint did a good first time job, ably supervised by Lyndy. I don't think I could have got many more points but could have run less distance, ignoring a 2 pointer which was possibly expendable and getting 2x1s on the way in. Was going downhill when Clare was running up - glad it was that way.

A fun class today with Lisa, the Christmas Elf, running amok.

Tough class that just seemed to stretch us each time we got close to a goal. Run felt OK - but then again that was at 10am.

Park Series (Macquarie College) 31:22 [4] *** 2.1 km (14:56 / km)
spiked:24/27c shoes: grey/white

* 3 not spiked=poor route choice.
Club presentations at Macquarie College and courses set by sal. While really wanting to do the Long, I opted for the Middle as my mind wasn't fully switched on. Between 1 and 2 I was terrible, having done no warm up at all. Quick out of the blocks and clean until 10 with a little stammer with that pivot control; 10-11 was clearly for us the route choice leg and I think I chose poorly, hesitating at the start then choosing the canopy route and then taking the "just" lower route - maybe going via the carpark/road all the way would have been better. Clean and back in control again 11-17 then a bit of a stutter in choice out of 17 to18 but cleaned it up. Back to pivot and had trouble finding the line back to 19 on the map. 19-25 was the cleanest section and getting into a rhythm. But the simplest "something wrong" at 25 which made not one iota of difference (ie description said top of stair and flag was at bottom - all of 5 stairs and not an issue) and I stupidly did a 180 and headed under canopy whereas I should have gone past tennis courts (ie high fence) Ran 60m all the time saying this is wrong! this is wrong I returned to #25 and orientated my map then realised I'd done a 180. Haven't often done that! Grump! Then so unsettled i picked the most useless route to #27 by going left rather than right - this time I did go under big canopy. It hadn't been a case of skipping a control, purely wrong way.
Such an enjoyable course. sal did a fantastic job. I Think I'm getting to satiation point after 20 controls. Need to work on that length/number of controls and planning.
Beaut afternoon, but missed rockman. Cassie shocked at her ONSW Rookie of the Year. Lots of prizes for the kids; brilliant BBQ and extras. Showing off all our club trophies - State and National - yep we had a great
year. Trophies I made looked good and recipients pleased.
