warm up/down (Stairs and ramps) 20:00 [3]
shoes: grey/white

Well dosed up on aerogard I tried to find an area not infested with mossies to warm up. Found a nice courtyard which had stairs and ramps. Used stairs initially to get HR up then stretched legs on ramps. Must have looked quite odd but a really good area and activity - so I'll keep using it until i need something else to entertain me.

Park Run (Callaghan) 40:10 [4] 5.0 km (8:02 / km)
shoes: grey/white

time just a place marker.
My first time on the detour course due to bridge malfunction... which doesn't affect our course at all but them's the rules.
Watch playing the fade away game again - will get a new battery sometime soon - works fine unless I want to do splits.
First actual run back after layoff so not going to be upset if time is terrible.
S-Rainforest - 10:45. OK - 2 sections dawdle. Watch died at this click and I spent about 10 secs trying to revive it, then said phooey then tried again and repeated phooey then tried again - stupid it's not going to come back.
Then tried to pick up actual time but so many numbers to remember....
something, something something...
Just did my best when i could. Some bits felt not too bad.
Rainforest - F - 12:10 this is roughly what I remember from ages ago so fairly happy with that.
Out of this - I don't hate Callaghan as much now as late last year.
Lovely catch up with Magic and Homa then off to Return and Earn.
Looking at times now I must have lost a LOT of time on the middle section as these split times are quite comparable with Dec runs. Now it really is PHOOEY!

Note

Road trip to Muswellbrook and Denman - council, school and scoping out areas for mapping. Very hot and unpleasant. Reception from Muswellbrook Council was very supportive as we'd hoped. Now rockman in full-on mode. I don't expect much else in the next month.

Park Series (Mix) 35:00 [3] 3.4 km (10:18 / km)
shoes: grey/white

Street Series presentation. Great format but in other ways a bit strange. More like a segue into Urban. It was a line course followed by a score segment with still a time limit of 45 mins, around Jesmond Park then the streets. Sam set a great challenge but at the end of the Line course I had 28 minutes left and the controls were fairly well spaced. I didn't pay much attention to scale either just went with my gut. Got a loop and just went with it. So very hot so just a trot.

gym class (Cross Trainer) 1:00:00 [5]
shoes: bright pink

Bit hesitant to go but had to give it a go. Wow - I am so very happy. No problems with foot - that's the most important thing. Secondly, while I did cut the long run by 1/4, I retained the other 2 distances and managed quite well. No signs of "breakfast" though i was fully warmed up so that helps on the "oats" front. Endurance seems quite good despite the long layoff. Happy days. I won't bolt yet but pleased with recovery.
