gym class (Cross Trainer) 1:00:00 [4]
shoes: adidas

Only stepped back on squat jumps - don't like to do them the same day as a run.
6 PM

Street Series (Waratah) 43:51 [3] 4.53 km (9:41 / km)
shoes: grey/white

Went early, helped set up and do Rego. Avoided the showers of the day and lovely and cool... but the hills were still there.
Worked out a plan which was conservative to say the least. It's been a hilly 10 days with last week's event, Sunday training and a heavy legs session at the gym in the morning already under my belt. It was interesting to overhear others - runners!!- saying they didn't bother going to some controls because it was the last event of the season proper and why....
Macey's courses are always great and still the same with this one. Had thought to go to Braye Park control as it is the highest point of the map but wimped out. Planning changed throughout - adding a couple of controls but seeing Damien on course AGAIN during which we safely but very deliberately cross to the other side of the road (ritual greeting ceremony between us) I stuffed the next control and then pulled the timing tight to get an additional 2 pointer which may have resulted in losing 1 for being late (most likely, on checking time I think I wouldn't have lost it!) but I didn't feel like being late, and what's another 200m uphill after the week.
So ends another Summer Street Series - still love the format! Managed a full attendance so will await my reward next week at presentation - toblerone!

When Cory says it's been tough - I'm not going to argue. Did another 38 Box jumps but limited other high impact sections - with all the hill work lately and extra running I don't want to tempt fate.

Club training (KEP) 39:35 [3]
shoes: grey/white

Skill today was route choice. Map is our hilliest Park. Activity could be done in pairs with conferencing on who would go which way or individuals could do the course as a course or do it twice with different route choice. I chose the solo option. Made only 1 mistake, not route choice, but a parallel path mistake. Chose to do contouring practice also. Turnout a little low due to MTBO.

warm up/down (Walking) 14:00 [2]
shoes: grey/white

Didn't feel as compelled as yesterday.
8 AM

Park Run (Lakeview) 37:54 [4] 5.0 km (7:35 / km)
shoes: grey/white

Lakeview are messing with my mind. usually they have km markers which are very useful for those of us who like to use them. last week no markers, so i figured someone had forgotten to put them out. Today 1 and 4 (which aren't the same place and the course is just lightly skewed) were out but not 2 and 3. so keeping track of timing was not an option. Still I was happy with what transpired.

Tourism next week.

Note

Had my "Sunday morning" sleep in. Feel much better and happier - so maybe I'm going to have to alter routine again.
