Event (NOY2 Wallaroo=Rocky Ridge) 1:09:34 [3] 3.8 km (18:18 / km)
shoes: new black O

The world is a happier place today. Had a pretty good run with only 1 real miss - #6-#7 too low/far West, but when the second branch of w/c didn't come up I knew what had happened and stopped, began relocating but en route found control. Biggest route choice #4-#5 - probably not the best to take timewise but made up for it with scenery. Happy, didn't stress at any time (which is unusual of late) but was a bit disappointed to be over the hour. Glad I didn't do the Hard Medium - apparently very tough. Claimed quite a few scalps today too. (smug smile)

Definitely not hard enough.

Park Run (Callaghan) 43:46 [3] 5.0 km (8:45 / km)
shoes: black+blue

Felt queeasy while driving to parkrun and suspected energy resources and food was low level. Really really cold with biting wind.

S-DMW - 12:21 felt fine as I started and passed 2 usual critical points feeling fine. Then it all started to unravel.I felt dizzy when I slowed, going up hill. Thought I'd reset but that didn't help much.
DMW-T 9:08 - Alternating spells of walking while dizzy and running when I wasn't. But when i stopped boy did I stop.
T-DMW 7:19 Had some hope of coming through it - this was usual sort of time for this section and was feeling more inspired and comfortable.
DMW-F 14:58 Totally crashed and burned - big triathlon guy walked with me for a while - he was concerned. But I insisted he go on after I was most of the way up the hill - I think he was glad of the distraction. He started to run, I felt better on the flat so off I went again. Not deliberately but got ahead of him and made it in well ahead of him. But when i stopped dizzy again, though less so.
Decision: next week and for next month will make sacrifice and get up at 6 and eat.
If the aim is exertion - passed with flying colours.

Seemed more on the ball from the stat than at other times. Got required rate up fairly quickly and could surge too.

Note

Visit to Yass, Albury, Yass from last Sunday - CSU scholarship presentation. 2 highlights were seeing a wombat trundling alongside the road between Yass and Tumut on Monday morning and taking in the beautiful water patterns of "billabongs" in Lake Hume. I know it would have been much better for the water to be just a sheet across the valley (ie much higher) but this was spectacularly beautiful with the dead trees, vivid green vegetation, azure blue water and sunlight glinting in sweeping patterns. And food wise - the lunch at Jugiong was wonderful - and Jugiong was really rocking for Wedensday.
