gym class (Body Pump) 1:03:00 [3]
shoes: white puma

Been so long - almost as long as it was since tRicky injured himself - that I hoped gym class times hadn't changed. Nice to feel some tension in the exercises but not enough for me to collapse.

Note

Well NSW over for another year - so many really lovely supportive comments. Already got a planner for next year!! Offered!
The hard work of negotiations with 5 venues/schools and the late entry of so many people just fades when it all came together so well. Some problems with SI units not being synched emerged - but had no effect on results (nor elapsed time) and also just relying on points/placings for scoring was a good fallback position.
Was relishing organising my massage for tomorrow - but have to return keys to schools and put in a Security Report, get another trophy done for the tied results in Sunday Best Boxers (Men), write a small report of ONSW News and contemplate what we can improve for next year. It appears that even having a lucky draw =return of entry fee + food isn't enough to keep people for Presentation. Still it improves the odds of winning for those who do stay.

Event (NSW - Event 3) 40:06 [4] 2.8 km (14:19 / km)
shoes: adidas purple

Excellent area and fantastic courses. Very complex - lost a whopping 5 minutes on #10 - became disorientated and couldn't make sense of map. Also seems I'm definitely slower in the mornings. Not sign of trouble.
Cool weather disappeared and rain stayed away.
1 PM

Event (NSW - Event 4) 31:39 [4] 2.8 km (11:18 / km)
shoes: adidas purple

Great school area - and Tim did a great job of mapping and course setting. Last of the NSW and I must admit that with 4 controls to go I was almost "over it". Still it was a fantastic weekend with high quality maps and challenging course setting. The alarm squeal re-emerged with a control that wouldn't stop - must be something with the second event of the day. Locking it in a box and burying it in a storeroom then in the gear van still couldn't get rid of it.

Event (NSW - Event 1) 32:38 [4] 1.98 km (16:29 / km)
shoes: adidas purple

Hilly start and went too hard (especially for current condition and recent illness) and paid for it dearly and quickly. Distance straight line (more later)
2 PM

Event (NSW - Event 2) 30:27 [4] 2.42 km (12:35 / km)
shoes: adidas purple

Not as hilly and body was therefore more cooperative. Distance is straight line. (more to come)

Note

One day to go... and still the entries for Shorts Weekend roll in. It's interesting what happens when I wake up. Mostly I "forget" what seem to be vivid dreams, while at other times clarity comes. Today was the latter - figured out what the celebration cake is going to look like.
10 AM

warm up/down 7:00 [3]
shoes: white puma

Bit mumphy - machine threw me off at 5 minutes in saying that it was due for service and I couldn't override it.

Bike 20:00 [3]
max:99 shoes: white puma

Felt reasonably good. Did random hill course.
11 AM

walking 20:00 [3]
max:109

Felt really good so went over the usual setting. "ran' the last minute. That was enough but seeing that it is Shorts I don't expect that I'll have to run more than 1 minute at a time and as I don't have SIAir I'll need to stop at controls.

walking 44:20 [2]
shoes: grey/white

Options were local blocks, gym treadmill or coastal. I chose the latter, and maybe I could stare at the waves and maybe see some whales. I thought after that it was too late in the season. First person I encountered was my next door neighbour - both of us were equally surprised and blurted out a hello and kept walking. Lots of people and dog walkers out. Top of Merewether Beach - Bar Beach lookout and return.
About 4/5 of way back saw some spray, some snorting and some whale tail splashing. Made my day. Cleared my head a little bit being out. The group of Hare Krishna were also a bright spot against the dark blue-grey of the water in the late afternoon.

Note

Finally through it but no time today for exercising. Key collecting, lock checking, Admin box organising, car starting (the other car), school Admin finessing. Tomorrow I'll have a real go.
