Note
(rest day)

Hoping to drop the injured tag by taking RD. Plan is for tomorrow's (not) parkrun is to be a reminiscing walk - not pushing it at tall - which will most likely be newy as I'm never interested in running there.

9 AM

gym class (Body Sculpt) 45:00 [3]
(injured) shoes: white puma

Was in 2 minds as to whether I really should go and deprive someone else of a spot in the class. Counted heads and found only 15 so that was a relief as it was all legs day - and I'm sure it was all calf too. Did my best to adapt and substitute. Great class had I been able to really participate. But now not feeling any pain or discomfort, jut restriction which could be psychosomatic.
11 AM

gym replacement activity 1:00:00 [3]

Hard and hot and a bit of a struggle on right leg. I need to train myself again to be bipedal.

Thursday Sep 24 #

9 AM

gym class (Body Pump) 1:00:00 [3]
(injured) shoes: white puma

Wasn't booked in, but instructor messaged me last night to say - "Come. We both need the session". So I went and we made it through with a few knowing nods. Tomorrow is the anniversary her her Mum's death and next Monday is sad for me. Belted out the biceps track - felt a bit better after that.
Bit miffed that a went straight out after the class to book for next Thursday to find no places left.

Wednesday Sep 23 #

Note
(injured)

700m walk to PO box was slightly more than my calf would have liked, but it stayed with me until I got back home - to be greeted by cement mixer and 9!!!! men.
3 PM

Strength (Tash's Tetras) 30:00 [3]

20 x push ups
20 x full sit ups
20 x deep squats
20 x biceps
20 x triceps

4 rounds of above

60 sec plank x 4 but done on knees due to calf niggle.

Note
(injured)

Who would have thought that at 4:45 pm skipping down the steps after being active all day would give me my first injury in 24 years, apart from frozen shoulder 15 years ago.
9 AM

gym class (Body Pump) 1:00:00 [4]
(injured) shoes: white puma

Tough going today - decided I could got to Pump, just not do anything involving calf muscles. Liked what I did as an alternative in the Lunge track.
Think it is less painful today - this resting bit is annoying and wanting to see what's happening at the top of the block in the formwork for the stairs takes some effort.
Pulled out of tomorrow's class; Thursday I couldn't get into anyway; will see how I feel Thursday afternoon before pulling out of Friday's class.

stretching 12:00 [2]

gym class (PF Active) 50:00 [3]

Didn't have very high hopes for this class - really find the instructor condescending, but I know I'm used to harder classes. However this was a good class, thought up on the fly I'm sure. Intervals, with no passive recovery and interesting variations. Sweaty as....

Park Run ((not)parkrun Lakeview) 41:55 [4] 5.0 km (8:23 / km)
shoes: black+blue

Referred to BoM site and tried to get out between rain bands. Ever so slight drizzle during run, but no wind to speak of so pretty lovely conditions. As I expected very few people in the park and none picnicing or playing or fishing. LMCC doing some remediation work on the waterfront - nice to see the improvements.
S-1 9:45
1-2 7:55 (17:41)
2-T 3:49 (21:30)
T-3 4:22 (25:53)
3-4 8:40 (34:33)
4-5 7:21 (41:55)
So 15 seconds slower than last week. I felt it was slower at the start, but on downhill I was a little tentative as path slippery.
