long out at a new map joining huriwai. struggled with reading the 1:15000 map especially with all the clusters of rock on this map. spent ages looking for no.1, was very close but took along time to spot it. very sloooow on 2, trying to find a route down to the control. once again was very close to 3 but took a couple of mins to find it. made a hash of 6 and took along time to relocate, was a bit of a weird area though. good for the next 2 then very silly costly mistake on 9 went into the wrong valley and had to go for a long muddy run back to where i should have been, grim. Just straight crap on 14, easiest control ever, I kind of walked past a metre above it on top of a little cliff but didn't see it so milled around for a couple of mins. running with matt and mike, from 18 onwards, with only a couple of small route choice mistakes. Had some sock shoe issues with the mud, having my foot moving around heaps in my shoe was average on the steep terrain. Anyhow overall a pretty terrible run with easily over 20 mins of mistakes, on a positive note felt alright physically and quite enjoyed the muddy ruggedness of the course

ak champs sprint. very easy course for the most part, so was mainly a running race. a couple of 10 sec errors but nothing much, just didn't run fast enough and the times were all pretty close.

good game of touch. made some big plays. Airways were still a bit blocked up, and wasn't really breathing that great. don't know if i will fair to well in the sprint tomorrow

pretty average gym session felt pretty weak, and wasn't really breathing properly from my cold

very cruisy run around the usualish loop. felt alright but never pushed that hard. definately helped to clear the airways a bit, hopefully i'll be feeling alright by the weekend
