Checking back in!

Back from a phenomenal experience last week which was probably the toughest week of my life in 40 years. Survived and thrived in -20F conditions with long days mushing dogs and sleds, learning some new skills and remembering some half-forgotten old ones. Northern MN is such a winter wonderland, yet also a harsh and unforgiving environment for the unwise or ill-prepared. Happy to say no frostbite whatsoever!

I really embraced the learning environment that Outward Bound provides and despite being the oldest person the course (and twice the age of the others) I managed to keep up mentally and physically. At the graduation ceremony, the person who handed me my certificate, said that I reminded them that age is just a number and that sprint and energy is what counts. Things that are true for many of us older folk on AP!

Saturday's drive home was in atrocious conditions, so all told an epic week.

Many stories to tell and personal insights garnered.
