Harvester Relay, Blakeholme. SYO Men's A team, 1st leg.
Physically tough terrain, with the bracken very thick in places. Technically really tricky. Managed to run straight into a boulder hiding in the bracken between #8 and #9, and smacked my leg just above the knee cap pretty hard. By the next morning it was fairly swollen.
Team finished 3rd on A, and won the Handicap trophy.

#1 a long very technical leg. Just about everyone was lost as we approached the first controls (it turned out there were four different ones). Took about 3 minutes to work out where I probably was, and then another minute to find the control.
#4 quite hesitant, but others just below me helped me find it
#6 too vague going into the green/yellow patchy stuff, had to go back out and have a second try
#8 just too low on first try, to had to go back to the wall, relocate, and try again.
#9 slight overshoot, realised we'd got to the valley, and turned sharply down the hill
From #11 onwards I was running with Jack Leitch, and between us we managed to find the flags without too much time loss. He was clearly quicker than me but kept turning round to check I was still nearby. At the finish I heard he had no compass, so perhaps he didn't want to just run ahead without me.
