EUOC Big Weekend, day 2, Holyrood. UKOL. Blue. 5.8km, 390m. 2nd (1st M50).

Very cold, frozen ground, quite snowy higher up, and some of the tracks were really slippery. Went for a very early start in order to get back to the hotel before check-out time, and get a shower.

Took it pretty carefully in the intricate gorse bush sections, and generally happy with my run. Be interesting to see whether over or round was better on the long leg to #4. I went round.

EUOC Big Weekend, day 1, Edinburgh City Race. MV.

Unfortunately the event was cancelled before it started dow to the very icy pavements. Competitors could still run their courses, so I did. Fell twice, once quite heavily, taking the skin off my knee but not quite breaking my compass.

It was a great course, and long too. Not often that an urban race takes over an hour.

Would have been a good start to the UKOL and UKUL season, but in fact it was neither.
