Halifax Urban. Men's Vet. 6.5km, 170m. 3rd.

My calf was still stiff, despite lots of rolling/massaging of it over the last couple of days. I did a decent warm up, but as soon as I started I could tell it was tight still, though not hurting. Decided to carry on but stop if it got painful, which it never did.

A good urban race, with some interesting technical challenges in the city centre, and around some of the areas with steps. Kept me thinking hard the whole way, but I think my routes were mostly good. Some big hills, too!

Not surprised to be a couple of minutes off the winning time, having taken easy on my calf.

SLOW London Park Race Series. Ravenscourt Park. 4km (like an extended Sprint).

A hot evening, and we'd had to rush to make last start time, so I really wasn't at all focused on the navigation. It was good fun though.

After 15 minutes my right calf got quite tight and painful, so I stopped. Probably not a surprise, as I'd done almost no warm up, and was running a sprint course.

After plenty of stretching and massaging it was still quite sore, but hopefully no lasting harm done.
