Cycling (Road) 2:01:14 [3] 38.13 mi (18.9 mph) +451ft

Avg. Cadence- 89 RPM, Forgot my HRM Strap today.

What an awesome day. Perfect weather. Met up with my dad at 800, pushed the pace a little, HB-LBstate-PCH Newport-Back to Warner and up to the Apt. Dad with me faster pace for the first 20ish miles. Spun it out super mellow for the last 15 miles. Waves were big and solid today!

Legs feel pretty good, so glad I got out and spun out the legs after my strugglefest yesterday. I've ridden 9/10 days starting the day I got back from cabo, and it feels good. Gotta keep this up with recovery, weights, stretching....all that good stuff.

Had a bacon/egg sandy and hash browns after...my sunday special. Now its getting some chores done around the apt. ive been putting off, then beers and hanging out with the wife and watching football! pretty nice sunday

Cycling (Mountain) 4:13:48 [3] 34.11 mi (8.1 mph) +6600ft
ahr:151 max:175

Avg. 79.3 RPM.

Did Bstar-MD-Motorway-Maple Springs-down Maple Springs. Luke and James ended with Joplin/Luge. I felt it as we started up the road at maple springs and was ready to call it when the dirt started, but kept on myself and made it to the top about 15 mins after Luke and James, they were killing it.

Overall it was a good solid ride, I need to keep putting these rides in, and it will payoff, right now these are my first long rides since almost Aug of last year. I need to realize that and not get so down on myself, and play it smart and listen to my body. Beautiful day up in the Santa Anas, and perfect weather for riding.

Followed it up with a bomb straw/banana/orange ultragen/pro complex recov smoothie and my second dose of sport multis. Gotta support my TIRED legs.

Blackstar gate to bottom of Motorway - 2:25

HR ZONES:
Z1-14:00
Z2- 38:00
Z3- 21:40
Z4: 2:16:21

Gym time this morning. Still sore in the arms from Wed.

5 mins Dynamic Stretch
15 mins Butts up- I win today 2-0....Sarah not on her game today so much, I like!
15 mins weights- shaking after a superset of chest/arms/shoulders. right to abs core
15 mins core- crunches/heel touches/bicycles/plank 2 long sets. killer.

I was sweating my ass off the whole times starting 5 mins into butts up. Good time in there, ill pay for it tommorow, sure ill be sore.

Cycling (Mountain) 53:09 [3] 12.95 mi (14.6 mph) +200ft
ahr:141 max:172

Nice afternoon ride. Got on the Yeti and headed out down to Bolsa Chica, perfect weather this afternoon. Slightly cool, but no arm or knee warmers. Felt good, just wanted to turn the legs around a bit before the big ride tommorow. Ended up putting in some good efforts too, it was a fun ride.

Got the cadence and HR hooked up now. First ride with both on the MTB. Avg. Cadence 83

Cycling (Road) 1:18:00 [3] 24.15 mi (18.6 mph) +250ft

Started at 600am this morning, legs sluggish and cold. Used some Tiger Balm on the hammy this morning, think it helped. Legs never really got up and firing but good to spin them out, amazing sunrise too.

Glad I took yesterday off from riding, will hit the gym tommorow early, and do an afternoon ride also on the cx or mtb, looking forward to that ride already!!

Core/Weights/Prehab 52:00 [3]

Legs felt sluggish again today, but its a good thing because it was a leg rest day.

Did dynamic stretching and butts up today with sarah, I win today 1-0 with an actual butt shot on her....solid! New rule: can only grab the ball with one hand, so alot more drops, and alot more running and moving to warm up.

Then did 30 mins of arms/shoulders/chest/back. Pretty solid today got me good. Then did 10-12 mins of solid core sequence with Sarah, new stuff today, always working me, core shit is still as hard as it was 3-4 weeks ago when I started getting after it more. I need a breakthrough!

Cycling (Road) 1:32:00 [3] 28.6 mi (18.7 mph) +300ft

Got on the road at 535, a bit chilly this AM. First ride early in a couple weeks, was definitely hard to warm up, plus the legs felt a little heavy and sluggish....ready for a day off.

Clear morning, tacked on some extra distance to the usual route and felt alright. Legs felt better towards the end but they need to be rested. Gym session tommorow morning w/Sarah. Only a couple beers each night for the last couple days, feels good. Getting back into my routine after the holidays is taking a bit but feeling its getting a little more normal again.

Core/Weights/Prehab 30:00 [3]

Hard to get out of bed this AM.

Did 20 min yoga tape (namaste yoga) on Fit tv. (dvred) -20 mins
Did 2 sets of 4 core workouts w/Sarah -10 mins

Cycling (Mountain) 52:58 [3] 12.94 mi (14.7 mph) +300ft

This afternoons ride was awesome. Swiped the pedals from the CX bike for the road bike (which Ive been using on there and like), short on time working against the sunset....so I took the MTB out.

Rode my newest CX/Road mix route, and it was sweet, handled all the tech and real bumpy sections so much better. Pushed the pace well, amazing sunset, no arm warmers just knee warmers, great solid ride. Grass and park portions were tough and burned the legs! Its gonna be a great race pace loop all through the season when im short on time! As long as the pedestrian and horse traffic is mellow on the trails/singletrack portions! because parts of my secret batch of these trails isnt supposed to be for bikes.

Anyways stoked, back for a beer and a bowl game and dinner w/Sarah.
