Cycling (Road) 8:36 [3] 1.72 mi (12.0 mph) +10ft

Rode down to race start in rain, wet roads.

Cycling (Gravel) 4:22:24 [3] 60.39 mi (13.8 mph) +4150ft

Race Day. Ended up racing the shortest distance Gravel Grinder course due to weather and hands and body being scary cold.

Started out well, rode w group until mile 10 then Slater and James took off. Kept it steady and enjoying a damn beautiful course until about mile 19 when we hit top of plateau and 20-30mi gusty headwind. On flat going about 6-7mph, solo. This for about 10 miles until downhill section w crosswinds and pissing stinging rain in face, totally soaked and body and especially hands quickly numb. Hands totally white w my reynauds/circulation.

Wrong turn and added some miles and stopped for 10mins at aid station. Then ripped the last 15miles back to town without gloves which helped a bit out of my soaked waterproof gloves.

Legs felt OK, just not prepared mentally or dressed for that type of weather or conditions. Tires were not at all ideal in super soft muddy gravel roads.

Was a cool experience and fun weekend w Slater and James but putting this one behind me race wise.

Saturday Apr 6 #

Cycling (Road) 1:44:35 [3] 24.89 mi (14.3 mph) +797ft

Left in the rain, first 20mins medium rain w James and Slater. Then broke and sun came out for the rest of the spin out.

Rode BGT to UW then along Lake WA to Seward Park and back.

AM ride in Seattle, prior to long drive down to Dalles, OR.
