ahr:140 max:164 slept:8.0 shoes: Salomon XA Comp2 XCR
Went out for a run in VF park: mt. Joy up and down to RT-23 then mt. Misery along the creek and over to the top back to mt. Joy parking lot. After that did one hill interval - it was slippery and wet. Finished doing terrain run (~20 min.).

Was surprised to see couple runners on those wet, muddy, and slippery trails.

ahr:160 max:170 spiked:19/20c slept:8.0 shoes: VJ Integrator 2006
Red course. Small park in Holmdel, course had a map exchange, green was mostly runnable except few places (which wasn't obvious). Had couple mistakes lead into none optimal route choices, but nothing major. Decent race. Earned valuable points for DVOA.

Definetely, it was one of those few races per year when I show some nice performance.

Forgot my Gamin GPS watch and forced to use Polar S625 watch.

Monday Nov 13

Note
slept:7.5 (rest day)
Don't have enough motivation to go out.

For those who was wondering about what 500 stands for: there were several versions of that magic number. One of them, Batona trail connected both maps is about 50 miles long, so, with some abstraction 'O' became another '0' and we got 500. Another version, hardly achievable, 500 participants :) But the most misterious one has been occurred just one day before the event - Batona folder in my e-mail box reached 500 event related e-mails, which is just a coincident.
C • Rest. 2

Sunday Nov 12

Note
Batona-500 is officially over.

We were lucky, very lucky to have such a nice weather.

DVOA meet at White Clay Creek, Red course.
It was more runners like course, was moving pretty good until #12 where I did big bubble. There was an extra trail which gave me hard time ... The thing I noticed, I didn't use my compass today.
Note
Just a note: ran second weekend w/out taping ankle and felt very good, even next day. Have to admit that those 2 weekends were on easy terrain.

ahr:129 max:142 slept:6.0 weight:66.5kg shoes: Inov8 RocLite 315
Finaly got a chance to do some training. Tested another pair of new shoes - this time Inov8 Roclite 315. Those are trail running shoes and they fit more like track running shoes, light weight, with good bottom sole traction. So far, I'm satisfied. Will test them at some orienteering events. But they definetely can be easely damaged (I mean upper part) when you run through thorns. Good alternative for O-shoes w/out metal spikes.
C • So good sprint shoes? 2

Wednesday Nov 1

Note
slept:6.0 (rest day)
Business trip again. Was tired for any training.

As I would say "Bad news - good news".

Anyway, sprint courses are finalized with only couple controls required additional field check before moving to a new features. Those are going to be extremely fast courses ("A" - 1.3km/10c, "B" - 1.75km/12c) using best terrain in the area, plus Sprint "A" is a very spectacular friendly:)
C • Too many business trips. 5
