A lot of "green" and hot with high humidity; tried to avoid all green areas (which are mostly uncrossable briers), chose more trail routes. Did few mistakes mostly hesitation (go straight or choose a trail around). Felt tired by the middle of course.

| HVO A-meet, Back To Harriman.
Very technical terrain with a lot of mapped features. Had a slow run with bad navigaton, but nice weekend anyway. Still not recover after rogaine ...

| HVO A-meet, Back To Harriman, Day 1.
Started very bad, was doing mistakes till #5, then was OK, but felt already tired (didn't completely recover after last week rogaine). So, instead of running just jogged and after major error at #10 walked all the way to finish. Time is really slow.

Day 2. | ||
| Note | ||
| 6th World Rogaine Champs, Big Lake, Arizona.
34 out of 64 controls, 2150 out of 4020 points. This was the first Rogaine for all members of our team: Claire Warner, Andrew Masalkov, and myself. Our planning wasn't very perfect but it wasn't very bad. Totally we planned to take about 39 controls but we didn't. We started 8 minutes later and got wet feet on the way to the first control, and did about 15 minutes error on the second cotrol. The main reason was unusual map scale - 1:40000. Then we jog-walk with more attension. In the middle of the first loop I got sick (headache) as most of competitors and our pace slowed down. Fortunatelly, one pain killer pill helped me and after awhile pace was restored which at that moment already was medium to fast walking. When it became dark we reached our first decision control. Lack of night navigation skills led us to make 30 minutes mistake and decision to come back to the hash house was made immediately. We spent more than 2 hours (ate, prepared for night-O, slept) in the hash house. After short rest and route correction we went to the open space areas for the night-O and did it very well without any mistakes. In the morning our energy level became low, we felt tired. Did last correction to our route to take few more controls. And we finished in at 23hr 15min. I really enjoyed our first Rogaine competition (except altitude sickness). My best congratulations to Claire who was a perfect addition to our team.
