running 56:00 [3]

morning jog with Storm

running 47:08 [3]

afternoon jog with Storm
legs feeling like lead - would probably have been better having a sleep

Monday Apr 29, 2019 #

running 1:01:11 [3]

jog with Storm
trying to bounce (ie run) a bit better on the ups rather than doing an inefficient tired plod (ie not much more than a walk)
feeling slightly more alive than yesterday morning
seem to be exhausted every morning when I wake up

running 30:55 [3]

afternoon run with Storm
trying fairly hard for 15 mins of it

Sunday Apr 28, 2019 #

running 57:16 [3] 6.83 km (8:23 / km) +300m 6:52 / km

probably going at walking speed up the hills (10 m/ks!)

running 12:00 [3]

slow jog round yellow course with Emma

Saturday Apr 27, 2019 #

running 25:00 [4] 5.15 km (4:51 / km) +60m 4:35 / km

short of time again, so ended up going hard again

bit of a warm down

Friday Apr 26, 2019 #

running 40:00 [4] 8.37 km (4:47 / km) +10m 4:45 / km

canal after school, feeling OK, but trying fairly hard, especially by the end
it's so nice to run on the flat!

running 5:00 [3]

short warm down

Wednesday Apr 24, 2019 #

running 1:34:44 [3] 13.5 km (7:01 / km) +460m 6:00 / km

Glenquey / Auchlinsky loop from school with Storm
gorgeous day
nice and easy all the way, had to walk a couple of times past lambs and ewes, stopped for Storm to lie down in all the streams.
r glute / piriformis still not right

Sunday Apr 21, 2019 #

running 17:00 [3]

all I had time for before Rachel's party
desperately need to get back to proper training!
left leg is fine
right leg - something odd with piriformis / glute and hamstring - feels tight but not tight to stretch - just not quite right when running

Saturday Apr 20, 2019 #

running 10:16 [3]

jog with Rachel round school

running 35:26 [3] 6.5 km (5:27 / km) +110m 5:02 / km

running 45:00 [3]

easy run with Storm
feeling slightly better than yesterday

Thursday Apr 18, 2019 #

running 34:00 [3]

jog from school with Storm
still feeling tired, especially hamstrings, but nothing majorly wrong
lots of stops for eg sheep

Wednesday Apr 17, 2019 #

running 12:40 [3]

keeping Rachel company on 3 * 400m - as fast as she could go
1'55
1'53
1'51
very well paced!

my legs felt not too bad for the first time today - hooray!

Tuesday Apr 16, 2019 #

running 12:30 [3]

excruciatingly slow jog with Rachel, with Emma lagging even further behind. I was happy with the slow pace to start with, but could have gone quicker fairly soon!
legs possibly slightly better - r quad definitely improving

Sunday Apr 14, 2019 #

running 15:00 [3]

am: jogging the flat and downhill bits of Yellow course at Falkland.
quad marginly better than last night but bad.
pm: very slow jog at school playing fields with girls. utterly exhausted ?!?!?
I probably need a proper holiday... maybe in 8 years' time.

Saturday Apr 13, 2019 #

running 20:00 [3]

2 * 10 mins with Rachel
Unfortunately I hurt my right quad muscle scrambling up a bit of Hadrian's wall on Thursday, and it was sore during run and even sorer after run....
Hamstrings still a bit sore and tight from marathon, but they probably need to start jogging and stretching.

Wednesday Apr 10, 2019 #

running 5:00 [1]

slow shuffle while girls did school cross-country courses. Walking is much better than it was on Monday. Other than tired legs generally, don't have any specific areas of major concern, which is very nice

Sunday Apr 7, 2019 #

running 3:30:08 [3] 42.45 km (4:57 / km) +90m 4:54 / km

Manchester marathon
3'28'52 for 42.2k; course was about 200m too long.

didn't sleep hardly at all the night before.
got eating right - 1litre of Torq go-juice; 3 Torq bars and probably about 5 Torq gels. Banana and nutrigrain in couple of hours before starting
felt rubbish at the start - first 10k were surprisingly hard, and took 49'49 on them which ought to have felt really easy.
21k to 35k felt good and was overtaking lots of people (it was downhill)
struggle on last 7k - slightly uphill and quads and hamstrings sore: decided not to push too hard and end up stopped by the side of the road like lots of other people...

Friday Apr 5, 2019 #

running 9:04 [4] 2.0 km (4:32 / km)

2k tempo along canal

running 20:22 [3] 4.0 km (5:06 / km)

warm up, warm down

Wednesday Apr 3, 2019 #

running 10:32 [3] 2.26 km (4:40 / km) +18m 4:29 / km

tempo section while Rachel was having her 10 min recovery - a bit over 5 1/2 laps of the school track
back sore by the end
strong NE wind meant that pace varied from 4:12 - 4:20 on the downhill with the wind bits up to 5:00 on the uphill into the wind bits, despite probably trying harder on them

running 19:28 [3]

wu and wd with Rachel, very slowly

Note

physio appt after run
not much wrong with my back that he could find.
massage and ultrasound, got a couple of stretches / mobilisation things to do.
take ibuprofen and go for it.
easy jogging when ready afterwards and it should go away.

Tuesday Apr 2, 2019 #

Note

Day trip to Aviemore for Rachel's birthday. 1h20 ish Storm walk in afternoon.
Back sore first thing in morning, then not too bad.
