bit of a weird day. turned up to a birthday party one month early, then spent all afternoon going to Sainsbury's, and only managed to find time for some cycling at 7:30.
hardest training session in a long time!
proper cycling round Abernethy on Dave's dodgy bike.
started off OK, but quickly got quite hard work. front wheel was rubbing on the brakes apparently.
out for 2hrs 30 in total but took off 5 mins for stops and a few more mins for downhills, although I was having to pedal them by the end.
from road up the back of Newtonmore up 2 munros - A Chailleach and Carn Sgulain - + a few other 700/800 tops.
practising compass and counting paces.
taking it slow and steady, lots of stops to look at map, set compass etc
out on the hill for 3 hrs 50 in total.
1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 4, 3, 2, 1 mins uphill from bottom of Thornbank corner.
1 min jog downhill after 1, 2, 3 mins; 2 mins after 4 and 7.
7 mins rather than 5 mins to avoid running past the same group of workmen another 2 times - they were driving round Dollar inspecting drains and kept spotting me...
Dave working from home so had hoped to get a decent run in, but hadn't really thought the timings through. ended up with cycling after breakfast, all day at Blair Drummond and a run in between BD and cooking tea.
in Brittany for next week. Childcare provided by my mum, so couldn't do as much as might have liked. very hot some days, often running straight after breakfast. very flat!
