from Slack towards Clackmannan until the cycle path stopped, then towards to Dunfermline and back.
lovely weather, warm, no wind.
trying to run slower because Dave reckons I'm doing long runs too fast, ie absolutely knackered by the end, requiring more recovery time or risk of overtraining.
still absolutely knackered by the end.

Well, I have certainly enjoyed summer this year.

fine on warm up, v tired on warm down. wearing too many clothes (2 pairs of tights + 5 layers on top half) after being cold yesterday, so was a bit of a Michelin man.

legs not too bad; hamstrings quite stiff and tight, but rest of muscles seem OK. Very hard to tell just how tired I am though in the snow. Definitely feeling less tired than this time last week. Need to not do 2 hours walking tomorrow as well as my run...

Strathdevon - Blairlogie and back. too hot in a helly and light jacket.
still feeling a bit tired to start with but not too bad, certainly better than last Saturday, but really really struggling by the end. 42k is seeming an awfully long way at the moment.
So 1 week of rest but still with a fair amount of dog / DofE walking isn't enough to recover from 2 very hard weeks.

Rachel's party at Clip n Climb, so did some climbing, but not too strenuous. might have sore arms / fingers tomorrow but shouldn't have affected my legs.

planned rest day. Unfortunately it also included 11k of walking in the Pentlands with a relatively heavy rucksack (Silver training half-day, approx. 3 1/2 hours walking). Not too tiring, but not as resting as sitting on your bottom all day.

Blue course at Tentsmuir for Compass Strop Cup.
Managed to plod round. legs happy enough to trot along on the paths, but really struggling to move through the terrain on exhausted legs.
Didn't lose much time on nav other than being generally slow at it - lost a bit on 2 and a bit on 11, but otherwise just slow and steady.

Have now remembered why I don't go orienteering: my left ankle (and a little bit my right) has completely seized up. My ankle joints seem to be OK on smoothish surfaces, but can't cope with terrain anymore.

had to stay on at school for a parent's evening, so managed to spend my d of e time recceing a wee bit for Fri 17th.

from school to just over brow of steep hill in Alva, back to Health Centre.
really tired on this one - started off OK but really struggling by the end, although still keeping the pace up. Other than hills, the slowest km was the cycle path from Tilli to Alva - had a head wind but even so slower than it should be...
Easy jog planned for tomorrow and rest on Friday.
Highlight was seeing a kingfisher on the cycle path Tilli - Alva; flying along in front of me on the way out, then sat on a post above a ditch on the way back.

recceing day 2 of Silver. loop from Glendevon up windfarm track, over to John's Hill, down towards Coul Farm until I could cross the stream, back via Borland Glen.
All fairly easy pace. lots of snow still lying around, very wet underfoot still.
