Mountain Biking 1:10:00 [3]

Had to work the early shift, so headed out to Bridle Path with Pascal. Was easier than I remembered in parts, and I hiked less of Bridle than I did last time. Guy from Pascal's work told ua about a trail not in the books... You had to cross a fallen log and walk through a marsh to get to the trail... Little beyond m comfort level, so I pushed most of it. Nice to be out riding on a warm and beautiful evening.

CLimbing with Erica at Cliffhanger. Wonderful afternoon!

Helped out with the post-Sun Run breakfast at work in the morning. Bumped into Laura, Ian, and Lucille on the way in.

Note

3 days of climbing in Skaha. Not sure it really qualifies as solid, loggable training; more like being active for the weekend. It was a really fabulous weekend with Pascal, John Oram, and a bunch of John's friends. I lead a couple of 6's, climbed some 9s and 10a's. Main issue was my soft, wimpy skin on my hands are not hardened enough to climb outdoors, and my shoes are a little too tight. Together these definitely hindered my climbing on the sharp, tiny ledge climbing. I did a little crack/overhang climbing as my last climb and just flew up it...

Climbed on Diamondback, Fortress, Red Tail, and Claim it all.

Mountain Biking 2:30:00 [3]

Squamish with Pascal. Long loop from Alice Lake up 4 lakes trail to Robs Trail, Roller Coaster, Lumberjack, Jacks Trail, 50 shades of grey, credit line, and Jacks trail back to the car. Out for around 4.5 hrs, with 3 longer breaks for a "how to corner" lesson, lunch and spoke tightening.

Only bike hiked a little of the uphill, and most of Credit line (it was a technical black and I was pretty tired). Definitely much fitter and more comfortable with biking. This summer is going to be awesome!

Lots of random exercises.

cycling 30:00 [3]

Hill climb at the gym. This was hard, and I was very sweaty by the end. It was pretty tough, so I was just trying to keep going rather than pushing... Probably 18 minutes of this was really hard cycling, so it was good endurance training, I guess??

Gym 10:00 [3]

Some core and arm weights, but I was pretty beat from the biking.

Gym 10:00 [3]

Easter egg-stravaganza with Ian Collings. Had to run to keep up with him most of the time, so there was definitely a reasonable amount of effort exerted. Hard clues this year. I will post them at some point soon.

Gym 1:00:00 [3]

At the gym. Upper torso was tired from climbing yesterday. Face-planted on my plank attempt. Classy!

Climbing 35:00 [3]

Climbing with Pascal. Should have learned by now that warming up is key, but I warmed up on a route that was a little too challenging... paid for it with lack of strength for the rest of the night.

Need to work more on flow, balance, and poise so I can be more controlled with climbs, rather than throwing myself up the wall. These are not words anyone would use to describe me, so it's definitely a challenge! I did one climb yesterday that was very controlled, so it is possible... :)
