Mountain Biking 3:30:00 [3] 15.0 km (14:00 / km) +800m 11:03 / km

Seven Summits in Rossland! Fun trail. Lots of climbing, which is walked part of. Little exposure on some of the rocky downhills. Beautiful views. Poker ride was OK, lots of people made for an entertaining ride. Ended up having to cut it short at the top of Granite Mtn because of my IT band, which actually was just as well because the final descent was super rocky and I probably wouldn't have had much fun. After party at our campsite was fun. Lots of beer and interesting people.

Mountain Biking 1:30:00 [3] 20.0 km (4:30 / km)

China Ridge loop in Princeton. Not the most fun climb, but the descent was fun.

Running 56:00 [3] 6.49 km (8:38 / km)

Run with Kate, Marissa and Joanne. Gilles, Ian, Graeme, Adam, Catherine, Sergio, and Adrian all showed up... Great group! Up richard Juryn, then down a random trail that ended up by the river, then we followed the trail and came out at the Twin Bridges, and ran along the east side of Seymour, over pipeline, and back to the cemetery. Getting a little dark by the end :(

Orienteering 34:55 [3]

2 sprint races at SFU set by Adam. Chasing down catherine, who made a couple of route choice errors. Tough courses with traps! Made it through relatively unscathed. Beautiful sunset, in case running on one of my favourite maps wasn't enough :-)

Gym 45:00 [3]

PT at the gym. Working hard. I can do 12 push ups on the bosu ball now, no knees required... small achievements!

Running 2:30:00 [3]

Diaz vista with Kate, Rachel, Marissa and Joanne. I had estimated 2 hrs, not quite sure why, as it took us closer to 3 with stopping time. Not convinced there are actually Diaz vistas, but there were still some nice views and the trail was fun. Nice dip in the lake and cupcakes afterwards!

Most bizarre event today. We are happily setting up the BBQ, when this family walks down with a large duffle bag, sets it down, and pull out a 8-9ft boa constrictor. They then proceeded to put the snake in the water and take it for a swim. Who does that?

Running 45:00 [3]

Baden Powell and Richard Juryn with Nicki, Catherine, and Kate. Fun evening run.

Orienteering 25:00 [3]

Wet at Queen E. Ended up running pretty much the whole race with Erica, which meant I actually ran the whole thing rather than wimping out with some lame excuse half way through... Felt like my navigation was good, and I didn't get caught out in the usual spots. Few bobbles here and there. Core still a little sore from PT.

Gym 30:00 [3]

PT at the gym.

Mountain Biking 1:15:00 [3]

Biked from Rice Lake to the trailhead to Mt Bishop. There is some really nice open terrain along the access roads to the Seymour Fish Hatchery... Probably worth some exploration if we think people are OK to bike/walk 4-5km in to access the map... :) it's even reasonably flat in places!

Hiking 2:00:00 [3]

Up Mt Bishop. My leg was not happy after biking yesterday and today. Didn't make it to the peak, since my leg was sore and it was all cloudy anyway. Hard work on the way down. Fun climb!

Mountain Biking 1:50:00 [3]

Squamish with Pascal. Had to change our plans since our route coincided with Squamish 50 and JABR... Found some great trails. Then to Meghan's Last Supper :(

Orienteering 30:00 [3]

WET at Mundy Park. Fun course. Skipped the last 3 controls because it was getting pretty dark and I wanted to picnic!

Gym 45:00 [3]

PT, and then some...

Hiking 1:00:00 [3]

Hiked up to Brew Lake with Catherine, while Pascal biked in Squamish and Nate, Thomas, Gilles, and Mantas ran the "Semi-Alcoholic traverse". Beautiful, beautiful hike. Saw as many bears as people (2 of each), but neither came close to us. Wild flowers were out... so peaceful!

Running 50:00 [3] 8.0 km (6:15 / km)

Club run with Christine from work. Will have to work out the kms. Good pace around the seawall, just chatting... Nice to actually run for a change, although I really want to get back on the trails. Seawall is too packed in summer. Dinner and catch up with TNip afterwards.

Orienteering 3:15:00 [3]

COC long. Got my moneys worth out of this race! Once I figured out the contour interval and got used to the 1:15000 scale, it was fun! Good points were the 3 or so controls that I spiked. So satisfying! Also my fitness allowed me to run the last 2-3 controls, despite the length of time I'd been out and the fact my stomach was rumbling.... Bad points were that it took me waaay too long to get into the map. Need to work on my terrain running too. Who wants to organize some training on this map?!

Orienteering 18:12 [3]

Sprint in Whistler! Goal was top 10. Came 14th. Was super happy with my race though. Coach Thomas warmed up with me and gave me some great tips. I had good focus, planned ahead for every control, and was able to run well. Couple of mistakes that cost me around 1 minute. More speed work and just more practice...

Orienteering 39:00 [3]

HPP fundraiser on the mountain. Little slow and all over the place. Got more into the map and a rhythm in the second half. Thought I'd be well over my guess, but was 2 minutes off my 37 minute guess. Fun course, great map! Up to the peak with some GVOC folks afterwards for tourist photos!

Orienteering 1:18:05 [3]

COC middle at One Duck. Took it at walking speed, since my goal was to not get too lost. Few bobbles, but generally managed to stay in contact. Had a hard time in places figuring out what rocks were mapped...fun area!
