Mountain Biking 30:00 [3]

Token 30 minutes of actual biking. Most of that was on the logging road we cycled down for 10 minutes before I questioned if we were actually going the right way (answer - no!)

Hiking 5:00:00 [3]

Overnight biking trip to the South Chilcotins for the weekend with Pascal. From Tyaughton Lake up High Trail to a random alpine field to camp, then over the hill and down Lick Creek Trail. Due to steepness, and later fatigue, I didn't do a whole lot of biking, but it was still an awesome time.

Awesome things about this weekend:
- I am fitter than I think I am, since I'm just tired, and have no real muscle pain.
- This area is so incredibly beautiful, with some sweet single track at the top!
- It didn't rain
- We got to camp in the most picturesque alpine field (I'll link to photos when Pascal sorts them out... don't hold your breath!)

Things I learned from this weekend:
- When experienced outdoor people like Robyn and Bruce Rennie say things like "isn't the hike up into the Chilcotins really steep", or "we took a float plane up and hiked for a week", these should ring alarm bells...
- Pascal's route planning skills leave a little to be desired.
- I should really take a bigger interest in route planning.
- Biking with loaded paniers sucks, especially when the single track is narrow.

P.S. I am logging every single minute of this hike because I had to push my loaded mountain bike up, and it was freeking steep!

P.P.S photos! It's a miracle they're done already!

Note

Went to see the physio today about my IT band/leg issues. He did some tests, and he seems to think it's my glutes (I pretty much failed some of the strength tests, so I think he's on to something). He gave me some exercises and I've to go back in a week... we'll see what happens. No running for a week at least, but apparently 2 days of bike touring is fine. Woot!

Running 20:00 [3]

Ran from Sasamat and 8th to home. Was going to do 3 minutes running, 1 walking, but I felt really good so I just kept running.... downhill.... so when I got to Alma (around 10 minutes) I walked for 1 minute, then ran the rest home. Leg felt fine.

Gym 5:00 [3]

Post-run core, glutes, and stretches/rolling.

Mountain Biking 30:00 [3]

Biking with Pascal along a trail to the south end of Buntzen, then back along the Diaz Vista/something else trail. Little beyond my ability (i.e. Knarly, knarly, rocks and roots), so mainly a bike hike. Gorgeous day!
