Mountain Biking 4:00:00 [3] 24.0 km (10:00 / km) +903m 8:25 / km

Day 2 of epic Chilcotin's adventure!

Today we all rode to the north Spruce Lake campground, except Ian and Andrey rode over 2 passes on the way there and we managed 1... Some incredible mountain views with clear blue sky, less snow, no bears, but a lot of mud... it was so slow going in a lot of places. Happy to sit by the fire and warm up in the evening.

Mountain Biking 4:00:00 [3] 18.0 km (13:20 / km) +847m 10:48 / km

Chilcotins! Ian and Andrey planned a trip that involved float plane to Lorna Lake, then a ridiculous weekend of biking packing.

Day 1 - we set up camp about 10m up from the lake, then biked (read: pushed) up Lorna Pass, along Upper Tyaughton Creek, then Erica and I split from the group to go back over Elbow Pass and along Big Creek back to camp (the shorter but much more climbing version - with snow), while the guys did a longer (29km, 1055m climb) version.

We had sun, a little rain, and snow. We pushed up clear trails, through snow, and through bog. 1 very cold creek crossing, and 3 grizzly bears (one at least the size of 3 Alison and Erica's).

Note to self - spare camp shoes are a must when biking in September.

Running 1:30:00 [3] 10.0 km (9:00 / km)

Delightful run around Buntzen Lake with Kate and Rachel, while a herd tackled the Diaz Vista. Beautiful fall day - so busy with lots of people on the trails!
