Running 1:39:00 [3] 12.0 km (8:15 / km)

Decided that having a race would motivate me to train, so I signed up for the Cap Crusher. I was hoping to run under 1:30, but given that I had a pretty bad sinus cold and couldn't breathe through my nose from Tuesday to Friday, I was happy to just be able to run! Nice, hilly course through trails I don't know so well. It was a beautiful, sunny day! Was greeted at the finish line by the wonderful Miss Lay, who was sporting a delicious pastry. I also won a birthday draw prize: an entry to the Survival of the Fittest race in Squamish at the end of May!

Running 1:20:00 [3] 9.0 km (8:53 / km)

From Hyannis, tried to get to Bottletop and did eventually after taking a wrong turn and running uphill for a while... this was a trial run using my icebugs on ice (shocker!) to see how they fair since it's likely to be very icy for the Cap Crusher next weekend. They seem to work well other than steep, icy downhills, but I'm not sure how much of that is me being tentative v's shoe. It was a beautiful day
