Running (Montpellier (France)) 1:00:00 [3] 7.8 km (7:42 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Trabuco XI

First run in ages.
It was a pleasant pace to start with, but the temperature was hot, and i couldn't keep the pace going. I was running with Santa and Gav from work. Followed the river from near the hotel right around to "Le Corum." Gav turned back once the grass ran out on the tram tracks, and by the time we got to the Corum, i was ready to turn back too. Santa kept on going - a little dynamo. I climbed the stairs and ran back to Avenu de Palavas via Place de la Comedie. It was surreal running through such an amazing looking place. Just a little pity my body wasn't coping with the sudden energy expenditure and heat. Since i expended so much energy i treated myself to room service of Lasagne and Raspberry and Pistachio Tart for dinner / dessert, yum.

France is nice, I'm enjoying it here, but it isn't my kind of scene. Too many people and too many cars. Can't really complain though, I'm in France, and you're not. Work wise things seem to be going quite smoothly, we have a visit by the GM tomorrow so that might put things into turmoil..... Doesn't look like i will get a flight this deployment :( but that's how the work goes. Scenery wise, the city of Montpellier is quite pretty (the old city, not the burbs where i am) The roads are really narrow and the old buildings are amazing. I found the 14th century cathedral today, it was unbelievable to see such architecture and amazing stonework. (If you were wondering, i had the day off today, i wasn't meant to be working.)

Running (Lynton) 35:00 [3] 5.8 km (6:02 / km)
ahr:155 max:170 shoes: Asics Gel Kayano XV

A quick rn before dinner and the Arrows Relay SI organisation. All done now. It was a fun run, and my HR was bizarrely low for the entire run, even though i was pushing a bit - go figure. Maybe i wasn't pushing that hard at all?
There were 4 of us for Curry at home, it was tasty, though it has left a rather gaseous feeling in my tummy. I'm tired now, but feeling rather satisfied.

Running long (Randell's & Brown Hill Ck) 1:31:55 [3] 14.1 km (6:31 / km)
ahr:161 max:179 shoes: Asics Gel Kayano XV

A quick afternoon job with Fern and my brother. Well when i say quick, it was about as epic as i do lately. The route was pretty familiar, and there were no angry dogs. It was good fun and stayed dry throughout the majority.

Street Orienteering race (Beaumont) 45:20 [4] 7.15 km (6:20 / km)
ahr:166 max:188 shoes: Asics Gel Kayano XV

Actually Orienteered.
It was a nice day to do it too. I was feeling a little full after a big Nando's lunch with Karl before hand.
All was going well until i got to the furthest part of the the course and the ticker went off, a few slow metres had it in control again and was able to keep running.
The actual course length was 5.7, i'm surprised i added another 1.4 to that.

Running long (Belair) 53:40 [3] 9.0 km (5:58 / km)
ahr:170 max:182 shoes: Asics Gel Trabuco XI

A beautiful late afternoon run on my lonesome in Belair. Felt really good, ran up the majority of hills and still feel good now. Heaps of water on the ground and creeks. Plenty of birds and nice and quiet. Had to help out a pair of backpackers trying to find the waterfall. Also saw heaps of controls for the schools champs tomorrow. And even caught David Tilbrook in the act of placing controls.
Wasn't sure i was going to get going on this run since i was dozing in the winter sun after a hefty amount of gardening. So glad i did.
