Pymton
10:59 AM. Harrogate. Burned 777 calories.
Course: 1 8.3 km 270 m
First orienteering in ages, and it was a nice sunny day for the effort. Control flow through the first three was very good other than the climb to number 3. Things went a little downhill from there with a lot of fluffing around at 4. I made a couple of extra mistakes in the rest of the course, and lost around 5min all up trying to find controls. Running up hills was hard, and my energy was running out towards the end. Lots of fun though, bring on the next 2 weeks. Oh and the Dose's were serving Hot Dogs, muffins and snakes, they were yum!

Bottom to Top and back
2:30 PM. Shepherds Hill. Burned 694 calories.

Fern and I were too lazy to go for a run this morning, so we convinced ourselves to run after all our shopping from the Borrom of Sheperds Hill to our new house and back down. Going up was a tough first 5 minutes of running, opting for the direct climb to the ridge line. Then once we got to Eden Hills Station it was another tough climnb. We got to our new place to find the current tennants moving out. We didn't disturb them and we ran back down. We ended up having to traverse a very steep hillside where i thought a track wouldv'e gone to the train line. Sadly there was none. Once back in the valey we had to jump the creek several times which was fun. I was tired.

Minno Creek
6:27 PM. Belair NP. Burned 770 calories.

Ran from my (soon to be former) house, and into the park. It was mighty wet and we knew that there was a reason the normal road in was closed. I have never seen so much water in the park before, it was amazing. Within 10minutes of running our feet were soaked through having to run through the creek over flowing on to the road. I was feeling quite slow and had to walk a couple of sections. Once we got to Long Gully Kiosk we opted to turn back from the others, but Fern and Troy didn't seem too upset. We ran back along the Creek Trail, both named because it foolws the creek and it had turned into a creek. We did an extra little loop past Playford Lake and i was astounded (yes astounded) to see water flowing over the overflow. We got hoe rather soggy and quite please with our little adventure.

Corporate Cup
11:59 AM. Mawson Lakes. Burned 413 calories.

First of my Corporate Cup runs. It was rather wet and windy and copped the worst of it too. I think i was trying to run into gale force winds and hail at one point. I found the running quite tough to keep up, but i got through it without having to walk. A lot of office pride lies on this race, and since i am the only surveyor from the team running, i have to be tough.

Walsh's Pyramid
8:15 AM. Gordonvale. Burned 206 calories.

Thought i'd start the Sunday with a 3km time trial. Looks like my time may have been a little slow.
Actually it wasn't the distance that was the problem, it was the climb! I took off up Walsh's Pyramid for a bit of a walk, it turned out to be an epic climb. There were quite a few other that i passed and some i knew i would pass on the way back down too. I had to take quite a few breaks as I felt like i was getting overheated and with out a skeric of a breeze it was tough to keep cool. Made it to the top to be only a few minutes of a couple with a dog that left at the same time. The dog still seemed quite happy. Well worth the effort and possibly one of the most strenuous caches i have found too.

Walk 1:00:00 [3] 3.3 km (18:11 / km)
shoes: North Face

Walsh's Pyramid
11:33 AM. Gordonvale. Burned 206 calories.

The walk back down was probably easier than the way up, other than the risk of faceplanting. I did manage to avoid falling over, but i stumbled a couple of times. I did pass a couple of people on the way down that i saw on the way up, they were still a long way off and i had rested for 45min at the top...... Came across another guy training for the Pyramid Run next weekend, it was his first time up the hill and he plans to run it again next weekend. Fool. I'll go and watch the spectacle but not run that race. Those runners can do the climb and back down in well under the time i took to go up. Utter madness.
I'm tired now and i think i may have damaged my achilles.

Running hills 40:20 intensity: (25 @1) + (1:10 @2) + (11:25 @3) + (24:40 @4) + (2:40 @5) 6.08 km (6:38 / km) +152m 5:54 / km
ahr:163 max:184 shoes: Asics Gel Kayano

Finally got the motivation to go out running again. It was a still, warm and humid afternoon, and i didn't feel like think about where else to run, so up the red arrow again. On Fern's suggestion i cam back a different way, along the creek. It was kinda creepy running along there with the festy tidal creek and the festy back yards, but a good change of scenery.
