Really feeling the struggle after the last few weeks of lazy. Fern took me down Bowling Green Lane the short way, while the others went the long way. It was a nice run!

John the Cobbler's Run

John lead us in a run from his place into Cobblers Creek Recreation Park and back. I enjoyed the run, but really felt like someone had replaced all the slippery fluids in my joints for honey. The climb was not nearly as bad as at Bridgewater, and the trails were fun. Fern and I will be brining our MTBs back to Cobblers Creek for a fun ride soon. John cooked breakfast for the 10 of us afterwards which included fresh eggs, bacon, pancakes, icecream, maple syrup and heaps of other yummy breakfast treats. Thanks John! Fern and I proceeded to go and by a new tent for car camping and finally a new pair of shoes for me!

I was stuffed after two huge field days in an abottoir. I didn't really want to go, but when i saw Fern running down the street as i was being dropped home, i just had to go and chase her around the park.

The usual run. I felt like this went quite well. I was confident with foot placement in the rougher tracks, and almost kept up with John on the way back down. The climb up Deep View is what i need to work on now...

Pre Meeting Run

A short run with the Arrows before the meeting. I didn't feel like running, nor have a meeting. But interspersing the meeting with Pingu, Pizza, and Hitler Video Memes made it bearable. The run would've been better if it had Pingu too.

Wow this took a lot of effort to get going. I don't think i felt like i could run for about 45' on this run. It was sorta warm and every step felt like an effort. Sheoak Cafe was the highlight with Berry Crepes with bonus Maple Syrup.

Escapegoat Basic Skills Day

Fern and I did the basic skills day with Escapegoat. I wasn't sure if i'd get anything out of it, but I did, and it was fun. We went through the basics of weight and balance, correct brake use, and gears. After lunch we were taught some more skills, like manual front wheel lifts, powered front wheel lifts, rear wheel lifts and track stands. It was a challenge, especially so since i wasn't allowed to use my SPD pedals. Highly recommend it!

SS#2 Auldana Course: Long 4.1 km 165 m

Woohoo 4.1 km. Wait a second something doesn't look right with this map. The course was steep too with some long "go-around" route choices. Still good fun, and Quick Route just confirmed that the map was 1:10 000 with the course measured at 1:7 500, meaning that the straight line of the course was actually 1/3 longer than advertised at 5.4km. Not a worry though and I managed to catch Fern and we got to run together for quite a bit of the course. Phil Hazell on his bike was actually not too far ahead of us for the majority of the course since he had to carry his bike to the majority of the controls.

A nicer night for running in Morialta, Fern and I started out with the group, but then broke away to do a modified loop. It was fun in the end and throughly enjoyed the run. Especially because it rained a little.
