The opposite of the Minnow Creek Loop

Did pretty much the same loop as Wednesday, but backwards, and at 6:30am. Probably slower as a result of both. Bumped into the Father In-law on his usual run in Frank Smith Park. Got home to find Fern had left for work :( the remembered, that I don't have to leave for work today :)

Minnow Creek Loop

Started out with Fern towards the forest and Frank Smith. We found a young lady just commuting along the footpath by Cart-wheeling, looked inefficient for travel. We then followed Minnow Creek to Apex Park where we found a CFS truch and a lot of yellow-clad people looking very un-busy on Hawthorndene Oval. They looked at us strangely, and we returned the favour. Fern took a break to use the facilities at Apex Park, then we parted ways, Fern ran straight home while I continued up Minnow Creek to Belair NP. Turning up the hill my legs decided to push me faster and i started to pant. The downhill into the 'dene was quite welcome.

Before running, Fern and I took a drive to Flinders Uni to look through the lost property at security in search for a missing car key. Do you know what? My Suburu key turned up. For a key that had been los since August 2013 (See: http://www.attackpoint.org/viewlog.jsp/user_612/pe... ) we couldn't believe our luck. Off to buy a lottery ticket.

7:47 AM. Hawthorndene. Burned 938 calories.
Olave Hill and Long Gully

Motivation not huge in the heat (even though it was only 24C). Fern dragged me up Olave Hill and didn't really get a "running" pace until we returned to the down hill direction. Once we were in Long Gully and watered I felt like i could move my legs a bit faster. It was nice and cool in the valley, and my motivation to get home was a chocolate milkshake - that was the highlight of the run.

Belair and Olave Hill

An ol' staple run of mine. It was nice, and i ran alone while Fern was off at the haircutterer getting her pretty on. (she's always pretty) The hills felt hard, and the flats felt nice, and the downhills werea bit too steep.... whinge whinge whinge. Rewarded myself with a home made iced coffee and toast with two types of honey.

Bleeugh Effort...

Really didn't feel like running. Well i guess i never ran, it was more of a plod along. And people kept disappearing from our group as time went on, Simon was the first to "pike" then Jenny, Finally Bridget disappeared too, leaving just me and my lovely wife to scare away all the rabbits and kangaroos.

Tanemerah Rd / Gum Flat Rd Run

First run with the crew in 2014! I wasn't sure how I'd go at all with not running much for quite a few months now. I was a fair bit sluggish to start out, but improved throughout the run. I was encouraged to keep with the main group and not to turn back to home early, and that was a good decision. I enjoyed the whole run, and it was good to chat to Zoe for a few moments between struggling breaths. I even took to the group down towards Mt George Picnic ground because I was having so much fun. After all it was my birthday run.

Breakfast at Sheoak Cafe after was quite good, delicious Choco Milkshake and Berry Crepes with extra Maple syrup. It was a good birthday too, with 3 different desserts at lunch accompanying good hamburgers at Mum and Dad's. I'll be backdating some of the walks and runs Fern and I did on our Honeymoon over the next couple of days, so keep posted.
