Orienteering (Narrenyeri) 34:28 [3] 3.0 km (11:29 / km) +101m 9:50 / km
ahr:152 max:186 shoes: North Face

Southern Arrows Training at Narrenyeri Hills. There were 40 controls out there 7 courses and all within about 1km of the start area. Crazy. I opted to d the longest course first and i found it fun. I couldn't move to fast as i was a little nervous in the terrain, but my navigation was mostly good. Had a log try and eat me at one point which left a nice hole in my pants and a bit of a gash in my leg and elbow.

Orienteering (Narrenyeri Hills) 23:52 [3] 1.2 km (19:53 / km) +45m 16:45 / km

Shadowed Mike W around the tiny little course. It was fun and gave him some coaching advice about gullies and spurs. He was faster in the terrain than me, so when his navigation picks up i expect him to offer me a run for my money.....

Street Orienteering (Athelstone) 30:46 [3] 4.7 km (6:33 / km) +56m 6:11 / km
ahr:162 max:182 shoes: Asics Gel Kayano

I acted as the Navman, and got Fern close to the control site then she had to find the feature from the control description. I suppose i was just being mean.. ;)
It was fun to run with Fern, but bloody hard work, i think the heat of the day was getting to me. Fern stole the map at the second to last control and i had to map memory my way back through the last control to the finish.

Running hills (Belair) 1:08:00 [3] 10.3 km (6:36 / km) +268m 5:51 / km
ahr:167 max:189 shoes: Asics Gel Trabuco XI

Run from my house into Belair with Fern to meet the team, then ran up the central ridge onto Queen Jubilee Drv. Then down to the Lower Waterfall.
I surged after the train line to catch up with the team again which left me wheezing loudly, but i did catch up. It was a fun run and soon we will need torches again.... Can't wait.

Cycling (Belair) 50:00 [3]
shoes: Merida MATS 500

Rode with Fern from the country club car park to the tap and back down through the Redwoods. It was a long grind to the top of the hill. Both Fern and I chickened out riding down the bessa block track, I got halfway down and decided it was a bad idea. Fern knew it was a bad idea from the start.
BBQ afterwards was great with so many people I hadn't seen in ages. Bring on more cycling! Yay

Running (Morialta) 55:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Trabuco XI

Decided to try my foot out, it was feeling pretty good - only minor hurting. I ran with Andrea to the fire track before first falls, then left her there and i climbed up to the top of second falls. Came back down the usual way. I got to the bottom before anyone else appeared, so i went to the bottom of first falls again. By this time my foot was starting to hurt. Though it feels fine again now. We got 5 pizzas and a garlic bread for $28, which we proceeded to insert into our faces. It was food, but that is all.
