What a windy day!!! But what an awesome time i had. It was 8 minutes before i got called up when i met Paul Dowling (Juffy) who seemed to be my main rival throughout the week. It was good to finally meet another sledger since none of the others seemed to show their faces. Where have all the sledgers gone? I made no mistakes with navigation and passed Paul at the third control. The terrain was quite nice to run through, but i found there little time for your own navigation since there seemed to be a lot of common legs with other competitors. Did i mention i won the race?

Long drive to Hay after the run.

Thanks to all the organisers and crew for a fun week of orienteering! I loved it!

Another race as an elite. It was tough physically, and my navigation wasn't the best. But i got around, had a good time and saw some controls along the way. Was quite happy to be eating hot chips after the race.

A quick warm up run with the team for the sprint in the arvo. It was fun to jog with Simon, Lachlan and Susanne. We were watched by cows and ducks.

First race in an Arrows Top for some time. It felt good to wear it, though the performance weren't that of an elite. The course was fun, but i was in a bad mood. Not sure why. I only had a couple of navigational wobbles, and did my best to enjoy the course. I led a Junior elite girl the wrong way and then i found the control before she did. May have been mean on my part. The cake after then event was good.

Orienteering race (Collector Hill) 50:25 intensity: (45 @1) + (5:50 @2) + (38:15 @3) + (5:35 @4) *** 5.84 km (8:38 / km) +254m 7:06 / km

Easter Day 3: Not too unhappy with the final day of easter. The terrain was really hard to run through with quite a lot of fallen timber. Navigation was tricky at times but i coped with it all. The course itself seemed to focus on a single ridge of rock which you were forced to attack from many different angles. It was interesting, though the best part of the day was the pizza after the run at the event. yum.
