Marion Coastal Trail
8:04 AM. Seacliff. Burned 1160 calories.

We ran from the Seacliff Yacht Club carpark to Hallett Cove Beach along the Marion Coastal Trail. This trail has a lot of stairs and was in full sun for the whole morning. There was a nice southerly breeze blowing but it was hardly enough to remove the flies and evaporate sweat. I should've stopped for water at one of the many water bubblers along the way but decided not to since i was already so slow. So i was a little dissapointed to get to Hallett Cove and find the only water was in the toilet. I decided i could go the whole way back without any. Bridget taught us the art of hoicking your shirt up to let the breeze blow on your belly. This didn't work for the skinny people. It worked for me, We stuck to the main road for the run back to avoid all those stairs. It was still hard work and Bridget seemed to struggle with a bit of Heat Exhaustion. I made an awesome chocolate milkshake when i came home. mmmmmmmmmmm.

Walking around the place
3:24 PM. Scott Creek. Burned 379 calories.

This was our substitue bushwalk. We were going to run another section after this one but both of us were too tired and it was pretty warm so we opted to walk through the eys tunnel instead. It was a great walk though we were taking the walk out of a bushwalkers guide (Push the Bush) and the written directions were a little sketch. The map was a great help but didn't show much detail. We saw millions of butterflys and a few kangaroos. I think this loop would make a good run if we added some more to it. There are some sketchy walking bits but the rest was fine.

Fern's Loop
7:08 PM. Hawthorndene. Burned 718 calories.

We were going to go away for the weekend so decided not to go orienteering. Fern said we could do a short run about 30-35 minutes from home instead. I know that these runs always go longer than intended. It was well worth the effort though, such a nice night for a run and i managed to run up just about all of the hills. We didn't end up going away either. We were going to do a part of the Heysen Trail but realised that the trail is closed on private land during the fire danger season.

Circly Wamrup type thingy
6:33 PM. Magill. Burned 202 calories.

This included doing 4 run throughs - they hurt. Feeling especially tired after three solid days of training and another solid day in the field (this time under the Swanport Bridge and at the Abattoir in Murray Bridge. Mmmmm fresh chops and steaks. The securtiy guard even asked us if we had and T-Bones and searched our car for them....

John's Sprint Training
7:01 PM. Magill. Burned 186 calories.
Course: B 1.5 km
Started out with Adrian again but this time in the second timeslot. yay? It was a jolly quick course and heaps of headbanging potential around corners into other people or orienteers. John's courses are good, they always make you think about which sides of buildings to go. I don't think i made any mistakes, i was just tired.

Street Orienteering race 14:50 intensity: (40 @1) + (1:30 @2) + (4:45 @3) + (7:55 @4) *** 2.33 km (6:22 / km) +11m 6:13 / km

John's Sprint Training
7:20 PM. Magill. Burned 213 calories.
Course: A 1.6 km
The second course which Adrian and I opted to be first out of the gates for. I kept ahead of everyon for quite a way - it took Fern and Simon stacks of time to catch me. I halted at the first creek crossing and chose to take the bridge while Simon went straight over to pass me. And i stopped again at the second creek crossing to help miss Fern who stacked it in there. I thought she was a little too fast to be out of sight when i looked up from the map, it turns out she was at the bottom of the creek bed (dry). Poor Fern. I walked with her back to the finish and lavashed sympathy on her all night. She even got a second helping of Cookies and Cream Icecream.

John's to First Falls
6:30 PM. Magill. Burned 751 calories.

This felt fast, i think it was, for me at least. Considering i ran a huge way yesterday and had my first day out in the field again i think i did quite well. Yep, i'm a land surveyor again - YAY. I didn't get to talk to anyone tonight really since i was busy breathing. It was fun though and we got to play rock band at John's and i showed how much i suck at it.
