Note

We went Paragliding!
I jumped off a mountain!!!!
it was AWESOME
Going to learn when i get home!
The worst part was the landing. The Pilot tried to get me to do a running landing (so your land on your feet instead of your bum) he told me the ground was going to be moving pretty fast. I underestimated the speed we were landing in the long grass and my foot got caught and sent both me and the pilot face-planting at a rate of knots. Fortunately the driver wasn't filming the incident and i survived with only grass stains on my shorts and jacket (and a bruised ego). Fern jumped after me and they landed smoothly on their bums.

Walk (Debela Peč) 4:00:00 [3]

We climbed a mountain!!!!! It was incredible and i loved every second of it. The climb was only around 700m and we stopped half way for a Čay at the mountain hut. Once we got to the ridge we were spoiled with a spectacular alpine view of mountains like you only see in postcards. The summit of Debela peč was 2038m and it was a fair bit cooler there than at Bled. What a great day!

Kayaking (White Water) 1:00:00 [2]

We went out on one of the local rivers with a guide to do some kayaking. There wasn't so much white water but it was fast moving with a few rapids. I was a little nervous but relaxed into it and it was heaps of fun. Rambo took the opportunity to fall out on a flat bit of water and that was funny! The rapids weren't at all tough but enough to get you quite wet.

Cycling (Bled Ride) 3:30:00 [3]

We hired bikes for half a day and went out exploring the foothills. What we found was some amazing scenery and some bloody tough hills to ride up too. My bike seemed to give me a sore bum rather quickly (actually a bit further forward from my bum) and i was struggling to want to sit on the seat for too long. So my knees got sore after a while from taking the load. We stopped for lunch on this lovely little lake before we traversed the side of a ridge to drop back down into the main valley. I had to walk up a lot of the hills and felt like i was holding the others back. We stopped in a little town and found a gingerbread museum which conveniently had some for sale. The scenery around Bled is stunning, it is like being inside a postcard, everything looks about perfect.
Off to see if Fern wants to massage my bum now....

Walk 2:30:00 [3]

We did a lot of walking between train stations with our packs so i thought it was prudent to log it. We walked from Gorizia Centrale Statzione to Novo Goričia Železniške Postaje which was in the same city but in two different countries.
Our second big walk was from Bled Jezero to our B&B on opposite sides of the lake. A lovely walk, but i was getting tired.

Running (Venice Run) 40:00 [3] 7.15 km (5:36 / km)
ahr:155 max:174 shoes: Brooks Trance

We trotted off from our hostel towards Piazza San Marco which thankfully hadn't filled up with tourists yet. We then followed along Canal Grande to the gardens where Amber stopped to do some core exercises. Fern and I did a big lap of the gardens then came back to collect Amber We trotted back home the same way. Venice is really amazing, i would love to have spent more time and money here, but as it was i think we spent enough of each here for the time being...
