Mount Pleasant
11:07 AM. Mount Pleasant. Burned 915 calories.
Course: 1 9.5 km 230 m
Not the cleanest of efforts by any means. The map is showing it's age and is desperate need of a re-map (it would be quite fun if the mapping wasn't so poor). But it was still fun and challenging even if i spent more time punching controls (all 27 of them) then i spent navigating. Some controls were a bit dodgy too being features that are poorly mapped or on features that didn't exist any more. I felt pretty fit and fast (though i'm sure i wasn't) despite running over 11km in 3 out of 4 of the previous days. And to top it all off i beat Stephen Dose by 9min!

Upper Sturt Station Loop
10:36 AM. Belair NP. Burned 1150 calories.

Fern and I went for a longish run in Belair! We were greeted at the carpark by Roy, Stuart and Muriel and we were warned of the dampness out there. I already knew this of course since my shoes were still wet from Thursday night. We were both shocked to see the amount of work going on at Lower Falls and the new track area at Upper Falls. It will be a shame if they fill in the single trail with the compressed gravel in between as this is one of the funesst tracks in Belair. But if it means more people will come and see the more remote parts of the park then it is a good thing. I was getting pretty desperate for water and was shocked to find that the big red tap at Waverly lodge was not flowing with any water (not even when i turned it on) so the only oppurtunity to get water then was at the Tennis Courts on Upper Sturt Road. We zoomed down the hill to Long Gully and i was made aware of the exact point i made our route choice error on Thursday night. Now to go and turn on the Ice Cream maker at home and see if i can make Ice Cream as good as we had in Europe!

Redwoods and more
6:40 PM. Belair NP. Burned 972 calories.

Slowly gettin back into actual training, and hardly coughed up any phlegm tonight! We started out towards the Redwoods with Lauren leading us too! Lauren suggested we go back over the hill so we did, it wasn't lon until Steve and I were left in the dark with the fast people nowhere to be seen. So Steve and i tortted along having a good old conversation when i realised we didn't take the right track, and we didn't really know exactly where we were (we weren't lost, we knew how to get back, we just weren't on the appropriate track) We ended up on Upper Sturt Road and then followed the road back a bit to hit the next lodge. We followed the track back down to Karka and along the creek track. The creek track was more of a track creek and our feet were going slosh slosh in the mud and water. It was fun. We got back to the cars to find that everyone was worried about us. Aiden thought we were taken by wild dogs or John Jarret or somuesuch.

Blackwood Park Loop
5:54 PM. Eden Hills. Burned 603 calories.

Ran with Fern into Blackwood park then down to Main Road and back home. We were fast in some bits. Fern zoomed away in some bits. I had a nose failure and had to come home and wash my hands of all the snot.
