Orienteering race 56:42 [3] 6.2 km (9:09 / km)

NT Long Distance Championships - Lok Cabay
10:30 AM. Batchelor. Burned 439 calories.

Pulled out of the NOL race and ran in M21-34 Short. It was more fun and John & Jason did the same thing. We had a "rock off" as Jenny put it to decide the start order. Wasn't anything special from me and really lost confidence on the long leg into the nothingness, you'd think huge rocks would stick out like sore thumbs in an open forest, but they didn't.
Finished up third and took home the croc.
What a great weekend of orienteering that NT put on, really well run, entertaining, and great socialising. SA could really learn some lessons from NT. Thanks to the Top Enders for a great weekend of racing!

Orienteering race 42:49 [3] 4.5 km (9:31 / km)

NOL Night - Lok Cabay
7:10 PM. Batchelor. Burned 309 calories.

First ever night NOL race! I surely hope this happens again in NOL, Such a great format, and such fierce running by everyone except me. I came second to last. Fern and I were silly enough to leave our Ayups at home so we ran with borrowed illumination from Lachlan and Susanne (thanks guys). It was great to see that the majority of elites have Ayups, and i think those who didn't, wished they did. Didn't really make many mistakes, but was so under confident in the dark with no contours. The start was hilarious and i couldn't see much since the dust flew up pretty quickly, also LazyDave was farting at the start line. Someone said hello to me out in the forest (it was Mace i found out), but i couldn't see who it was because of the blinding light from all the ayups.
Really fun race, followed up by a great dinner!

Orienteering race 24:30 [3] 3.5 km (7:00 / km)

NOL Sprint - Casuarina Campus
5:30 PM. Darwin. Burned 320 calories.

First race in Darwin since 2009.
Went out with my camera attached to the side of my head, which kept some other competitors honest. I wasn't particularly fast or anything, but i got through it with only minor errors. The sand dunes were bloody tough to move through.
Lost all my HR and GPS data thanks to my stupid watch corrupting all the data. So no video analysis again... I don't think the stars will ever align to get the video analysis going.
