Pretty good fun course set by Meredith. Lots of direction changes to force my mistakes and some controls that required very accurate direction and distance estimation.
I had a pretty smooth run other than couple of little wobbles early on. Then #11 where i found myself at the track bend 150m beyond the control. I had thrown away the narrow clearing/ride as just another linear tree row and kept going. That area was full of so much junk and the feature wasn't prominent to allow for an easy spotting from a distance. Anyway got back to the control pretty quickly losing about 2min. I had a bunch of direction issues at 15 then 16 and a whole lot of heistation to 19. I felt i got lucky going to 21 as it was going to be pot-luck as to finding the mound after a long nothing from the track. Thankfully I spotted the warning tapes on the mine shaft which prompted my head to look left sharply and spot the flag - YAY! Itook the long way out of 21 just to make it easily runnable.
Finished strongly and in 2nd place less than 50% behind Simon. Managed to beat both Angus H and Bridget which pleased me. I spent a fair bit of the day helping mum on SI.

Good fun course and the most mind consuming of the weekend. I had great difficulties with direction all race with about a 30 degree error from 1 - 2 leading me much further north then desired. I ended up further right than i wanted on 4 but that was actually closer to the red line and running with (behind) Simon. I found 9 on the way to 7 which was unintended but a bit useful too. The end of the course was probably a little simple but considering the area was active with Trail Bikes it was probably a safety consideration. I felt like i wanted more today which hasn't happened on a course for a while for me. Pretty happy with the weeknd all up.
