Orienteering race 37:54 [4] **** 4.83 km (7:51 / km)
spiked:10/16c shoes: VJ Falcon

SILVA Junior Cup Middle on St. Brandsbol again, straight line distance 4.1km. Was going out knowing that I had to have full plans and was feeling good.
Running on 1:10000 and went looking for the control on the wrong hill, losing about a minute. Found the control nailed to a fallen tree, pretty crazy :)
Couldn't understand the map around number 2, I had got into the area fine but just had trouble finding it, lost about 30s.
To number 3 I was on the knoll but on the wrong side and then drifted off a bit from there.15s lost
Going to number 5 I was a bit too high lost about 30s
Had cuaght Jack B up on the way to 6, and got a bit confused about the map, there seemed to be reentrants everywhere and I just so happened to be looking for 1, so stopped too early, lost 1min 30s
1-6 was a small loop and after that loop was done I was fairly clean lost another 15s or so going down the wrong reentrant at 11.

Lost 4mins in total but much better than yesterday, placed 15th

Orienteering 1:14:51 [3] **** 9.69 km (7:43 / km)
spiked:6/9c shoes: VJ Falcon

SILVA Junior Cup Long distance, running H18 Elite 2, straight line distance was 7.4km.
Running on 1:15000 took number 1 easy just wanted to get it right.
Took a poor route choice to number 3, running through lots of crap and marshes loost 2min
Lost 1min to 4, was too far west and hesitant in the area.
Number 5 was a long leg, lost 8min due to lack of concentration and then couldn't relocate.
To number 8 I probably lost about 30s towards the end of the leg.

The controls that I got right I was running strong so was pretty quick, just have to have a full plan all the time.
Lost 11min 30 in total. Placed 29th

shoes: VJ Falcon

Hares and Hounds exercise on Paradisa, 1:4000 scale with fallen trees marked! I was going around with Jack B, we both had some big shockers on some of our legs. I had quite a lot but was starting to get better later on. Nick B was shaddowing us towards the end.

Another line exercise, good at the start then messed it up horribly went out and did it again to get it right.

Orienteering 1:10:19 [3] **** 6.79 km (10:21 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcon

Doing o training on the area near the club hut. No paths marked and area was a bit vague in areas, which made a bit more tough.
6 PM

Orienteering race 34:58 [4] *** 5.88 km (5:57 / km)
spiked:9/11c shoes: VJ Falcon

Running 2nd leg on the Melkers Minne at Kalltorp. Was a few minutes behind the main pack but managed to catch up a good few places. Made some small mistakes at the start but head just completely blew up at 9, did a 180 using number 6 to indicate North. :( Pretty easy area apart from number 8, knew it was going to be hard so concentrated in there. Straight line distance was 4.8km

Run race 10:24 [5] 3.0 km (3:28 / km)
shoes: Asics Patriot 3

First 3km time trial I have done in 2 years or so... And that was also the last time I ran on a track. Did this one on a 200m indoor track. Had a bit of extra gas in the tank at the end so I was able to sprint the last 2 laps. 2nd fastest lad :)
11 AM

Orienteering 38:44 [3] *** 4.35 km (8:54 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcon

Orienteering cool down after the 3km time trial. In a forest just beside the track was taking it easy so wasn't finding it too hard. Went round with Jack B
8 PM

Orienteering 1:23:08 [4] **** 8.36 km (9:57 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcon

Mass start night race on Granby - Oran also called Pradisa or something... IT was ungaffled so ended up all just running in the rough direction to number 1 then making a horrible mess of it. The stayed with the pack for a while, messed up the centre of the butterfly and then ran around with Chris N and Matt P, was pretty funny really. :) We did really quite bad... Straight line distance was 5.81km :o

Run 35:00 [3] 4.5 km (7:47 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcon

Arrived at the OK Ravinen hut and got sent out to do a reflexbana. Had no idea what it was but it was cool. Small bits of reflective tape attached to trees and they shine up pretty clear at night with a head torch. So it was a nice terrain run in the dark. It was 4.5km but Garmin was dead so don't really know what time it took me...

Orienteering race 59:15 [4] **** 4.5 km (13:10 / km) +220m 10:35 / km
17c shoes: VJ Falcon

Day 1 of the WOC Tour on les gouilles.
Decide to take it easy to 1 but stopped a bit early.
Lost about 1min 45 to 2, ended up on a different path than I thought but caught on pretty quick.
Hit 3 fine.
Lost a minute to 4. Stopping early again.
Was pretty steady after this. Bit of a mistake to 8 losing maqybe 30s but nothing major.
Number 9 got into the area but just couldn't find the control. Attacking it from different directions and still failing. Lost 3 min 30
Bombed it to 10, 2nd fastest split :)
Going pretty well after that, scrappy in the controlcircle but that was it.
Lost 3min at 15, even after relocating I still couldn't find it. turned out the control was on the path even though the descriptions gave it as on a hill top...

Didn't have a great race lost about 10mins but still really enjoyed it, awesome terrain! Now off to Sweden :)

Training on le creux qui sonne. Dad drew up a course, from the controls that were out there. Was going pretty slow, just focussing on the technical stuff.
