Orienteering race (JK Day 3) 43:59 [5] **** 8.42 km (5:13 / km) +200m 4:40 / km
spiked:13/14c

JK Day 3 at Braunton Burrows, a much better day, i didn't even get wet before i left to the start :)

I caught Charlie Jenkins on my way to number 4 after i ran through what i thought ewas a small march but turned out to ba a thight deep lake! Absolutkley soaked. He was running with me until i was on my way to number 6, where i soon saw Harry heading to number 6. Harry was running with me to number 7 and on the way to 8.

Number 8, i got to my attackpoint easily but as i navigated from there i went abit to the right, heading towards another depression, so i came back out toward the thicklet and went back in to number 8 probably costing me about a minute. Charlie caught up with me again after this mistake and was with me for a bit on the way to number 9.

I had to force myself to run faster and had to keep reminding myself to run faster when i could as i seemed to slow down for no reason in places, and after looking at splitsbrowser it looks like i should have done this before number 8 too.

Very happy with my run and finshed 2nd, although i was 3 minutes down on Aidan Smith.

Orienteering race 44:06 [5] *** 6.76 km (6:31 / km) +125m 5:58 / km
spiked:14/16c

JK Day 2 at Cookworthy Forest North, very wet day and had already been standing about at the event centre in the rain for 2 and a half hours, not really the best preperation :)

Started off and wanted to get into the map so went a bit slower than usual by the time i was at number 2 i was confident so was able to speed up. Spiked all the controls up to number 6.

Number 7 i didin't take the best route choice for a start but that was alright then got into the area and was looking about for 7, i must have nearly stood on it too :( lost 1min 30 from the route choice and in the control circle.

On my way to number 9 and Jack Benham caught me.

We made a bit of a mistake on number 14 but that was it really maybe losing about 20 seconds or so. I lost about 1min 50 overall.

The amount of mud in somer areas of the forest was crazy, like 2ft deep of mud in some places.

Orienteering race (Sprint event) 17:14 [5] *** 3.55 km (4:51 / km)
spiked:17/19c

Sprint race at Bicton College, i left to do my course 13 minutes late, so i was already at a great disadvantage! Although i didn't realise that they would add the 13minutes to my time but soon found out. When i first looked at the map i realised that this was going to be very fast as it wasn't a very complicated sprint.
I managed to catch Matt Penellumon my way to number 6and then caught Harry going to number 7 or 8.
Made a mistake going to number 10, i was a bit confused at this stage and followed Matt but we went past 10 i relocated fatirly quickly and headed back round to number 10, probably lost about 20/30 seconds.
The rest of the course was good apart from a minor mistake going to number 13 having to run around an out of bounds flower bed losing 10 seconds.

Just looked at the results and they have changed my time to 17:12 instead of 30 something so now in 10th place :)

Went for a gentle jog with dad around the 3 mile loop, taking it easy as dad was finding his leg very sore. Wanted to get out on a gentlr run before the jk.
