Easy BBM
Wanted to keep the long run soft this week, as the roads gave my legs a bit of a beating. Thought that maybe all the rain would have melted the ice. I guess it had, but it was below zero most of the night and into the morning so the back end of Braids was icy af. Had to bail on the descent as it was sheet ice and I was getting zero grip. Went to the side path, same issue, so just sort of squatted and slid down using some rather unhelpful brambles to break with. Didn't fancy doing that two more times as would normally be the base for this route, so just cut about Mortonhall to get the miles up, actually really nice.

Easy up WoL
Nice chill pace with Peter & James. Got a bit busy at times, made an old man grumble. Achilles felt a bit tight this morning, not sure if it was due to S&C yesterday, nothing bad and the run was fine, just a bit of a curiosity.

Recovery round the Meadows
With Jimbo and Pete, once he had crawled out of bed, typical lazy student. Nice and slow, maximising the recovery. Nice to see nearly all of the snow and ice has gone, but might be a while before the grass is in pleasant condition. Re-tied my laces, and didn't get any rubbing on the heel which is nice.

Looked out the window and the rain has stopped, got the the bottom of the road and it very much started again. Yay! Did some jumping/hopping before starting, and achilles felt good, so gradually gonna work more of these in over next week. I can't just shock load it by doing faster workouts, so gonna have to tease it in with gradually increasing plyos. Maybe do some intervals in March, see how it goes.

Easy round the Lagoons
Legs a bit tired from two decent road days in a row, so nice to get on the trails/grass and run easy. Good place for a run actually, can stay off-road for a long time without too much faffing about, make it two laps and you can get a long run done. Really wet at the moment, but a good option for in drier times. Maybe not on a windy day.

Cruise round town
Went to pick up my new Haries jumper, then just cut about town to round things up. There shoes are starting to rub on my heel, and the lining has rubbed through, bit annoying. Probably what you get for never untying your laces.

Cruise round the south loop
Rain doing some good melting, but still some deadly patches out there, but easily avoidable. Had a good rave with a bus for most of the inner ring road.

Recovery round the Meadows
Saw a tractor on the Meadows, that's about as exciting as this got. Nice and sunny, legs quite sore from yesterday; hopefully the ice melts away and I can get back to doing this on trails.

Easy round the Meadows
Wee bit slippy, wee bit nippy. Right quad a bit tight/sore, self-diagnosing as response to the achilles not taking up it's share of the landing work, so quad taking on more load.
