About as flat as it gets. Down to Northampton on the west side of the river, back on the east side. Even took the rail trail bridge (dead flat), thereby skipping the Coolidge Bridge hill. Though the motivation was taking a safer route through N'ton, skipping all but a little bit of Damon Road (no shoulders, potholes, heavy traffic).

At one point I thought I was hallucinating, must be something wrong, in N'ton and new pavement, but then I realized it was probably state maintenance that was fixing that part of US Rt. 5. Quite happy to enjoy it regardless.

Felt like I was putting out a good effort, not that the heart rate would indicate such. My guess is that if I'd pushed it just a bit harder then the heart would have been going a good bit faster. As it was, no heavy breathing, but the legs and the butt were certainly ready to quit when I got home (actually, they were ready a few miles earlier).

But we're supposed to get some wet weather this week, not sure how much I'll get out, so figured I needed to do more than just a minimal amount today.

Or maybe I should just learn to like riding in the rain?
