At Walter's. Working too hard, feeling quite wasted, and that was after 20-30 minutes. Cut back some and made it to about an hour and that was enough (rest were going about 75 minutes).

Hard to avoid the mountains in that part of the world, though how much you see of them depends on the weather. We saw more than enough to keep us happy. Spent a couple of days in El Chalten (Argentina), lots and lots of young backpackers around using it as a base for hiking and climbing. If you were good, you could climb Fitzroy (our local guide said he had made it up in 4 hours) --
Then back in El Calafate, a boat ride (way too windy and therefore too rough for my tender sensibilities) and then a rough track to get to see some different terrain, very iffy weather but interesting --
And then off the next day for an up-close view of another glacier, very fine --
