Upper 40s, N 5-10, bright sunshine. Not too hard to take, even had the gloves off for a while in the middle.
At some point yesterday evening I was thinking about how short my staying power is when I stand on the pedals, seems I run out of gas very quickly, and I was wondering if I was breathing enough. Thought I would try to concentrate on breathing today, if I could remember to do so. Well, I did and I did (remember/concentrate).
Not sure it helped -- it wasn't like I suddenly felt like I could ride standing up for a long time. I'm pretty sure it didn't hurt. More experimentation is needed.
I remember many decades ago when I did some swimming. I'd never done much swimming before that, and it seemed one lap would do me in. But before long I figured out that breathing mattered, and pretty soon I could just keep going, standard workout was a mile. Wouldn't have thought it was possible.
