Pocumtuck Ridge Trail from Eagle Brook north to Sachem Head and back. Feeling tired but managed a decent effort.

Local meet at Mt. Tom. Ran not so bad. Routes and comments.

It would be nice if my legs would stay healthy long enough to get some decent fitness back. I've got some good motivation to do the work, partly from some events I want to go to next year, and partly from feeling so bad at some recent events and wanting/needing to get away from that.

I've been spending some time looking at old maps and in the process reliving some good memories. It's also good motivation to get back in shape. I hope to add some maps and stories to my website on a frequent basis. I'm starting off with candidates for my best runs ever. I imagine at some point I'll balance things out with some of the worst....

Out to the town line (18:26) and back (17:23) with Dave. Pouring rain made me appreciate the company and also work harder on the way back.

Over on the low route to Middle Mt., long grind up it to the power line, back along the line and North Mt. Decent effort, working on my breathing (the things you forget when you don't train much....). Continuing to do a bunch of stretching and massage (Gail has a cylinder-shaped device that combined with my body weight does a number on any complaining muscle). Don't know where this will lead but I have to try something.

A sad day - a group run to the top of Mt. Toby to scatter the ashes of a local runner who died of cancer at age 43 - but also just the right thing to do to remember him as he lived just down the road and Toby was his regular training ground.
