part trail, part road 26:40 [3]
shoes: Air Max Trail 09/05

In Chapel Hill, visiting Gail's aunt and uncle, went for a short run just at dark, which allowed part of the outing to be on the Chapel Hill Country Club (it was too dark to read the "Keep Out" signs). Still aches and pains.

Earlier in the day, a very enjoyable round of O' practice at Cannon Ridge in Fredricksburg.

Note

Headed off for a southern training camp, hope to get in lots of O' practice and maybe even a little running.

trail running 31:52 [3]
shoes: Pegasus 08/06

Had to do something before heading off to T Day dinner at the DwWeeses's so I took a not too successful trip up to the power line and back.

Butt was still sore, so about halfway my left calf thought it would come to the rescue by diverting attention from my butt, and then about 3 minutes before the end I rolled my right ankle to try and take the stress off my left calf, and then by this time my butt was feeling much too ignored, so I slipped crossing a little wet spot about 100 yards from home and woke it up with a good yank.

Oh, and did I mention I was sweating profusely and feeling weak and like low blood sugar had me firmly in its grip?

But dinner was great, including 2 apple pies courtesy of Gail!

Up to the power line, then over to the bridle trail loop and back. Hamstring/butt still hurting, not real bad, but enough to make it hard to decide whether it's better to lay off for a while or just keep at it. Have a feeling this will be a chronic thing no matter what I do.

In the meantime, gettting in some O' practice, and getting fat.

Note

Posted my routes/comments from M60 on the Green-X course.

Hamstring/butt not real happy....

trail running 12:00 [2]
shoes: integrators 2006

Run to the start.

orienteering 36:36 [4] 5.95 km (6:09 / km) +197ft 5:51 / km
shoes: integrators 2006

Day 2, another good run, though still about a minute of sloppiness, especially on the next to last control. Good effort again, ran well right to the end, though the running was easier than yesterday, less undergrowth. Hamstring/butt still sore, very sore on the way home.

Yesterday felt more like hard work, today was just fun.

I'll post maps tomorrow.

Warm-up run to the start.

Batona 500, day 1, Green X course (M60). Pretty good run, maybe a minute or a little more of mistakes. Ran well for about the first 30 minutes, surprisingly well actually. Hamstring/butt a little sore but tolerable.

trail running 1:30:48 [3]
shoes: Air Max Trail 09/05

On Mt. Toby with Jessica -- over to the gate, up to the hairpin, back via the s-curves and the power line. Felt surprisingly good, maybe because I was well rested.

speed golf 39:44 [3]
shoes: Pegasus 08/06

Not so much speed actually, just a run around the course, Swampfox pace, just at dusk, well maybe it was pretty dark for the last few holes. Nice place to run, though usually runners aren't particularly welcome.
