biking 1:33:42 [4]

Biking with Phil, Lake Wyola - Shutesbury loop, 26.8 miles. Totally trashed, and couldn't keep up anyway...

Thursday Aug 29, 2002 #

trail running 1:07:43 [3] 9.0 mi (7:31 / mi)

With Jeff Saeger in the Blue Hills. Light rain, nice trails, good conversation, felt better as the run progressed. Can't complain.

Wednesday Aug 28, 2002 #

biking 53:20 [2]

To Florence for a doctor's appointment. 14.6 miles, mostly flat.

biking 51:04 [3]

Back home, still mostly flat.

Monday Aug 26, 2002 #

biking 2:04:19 [3]

Lake Wyola, Wendell, Millers Falls, about 33 miles. Beautiful morning, 1 porcupine which I gave a wide margin to.

Sunday Aug 25, 2002 #

trail running 1:06:25 [3] 7.5 mi (8:51 / mi)

Skipped the Mt. Toby race, but ran up to the top and back (by a much shorter route) to watch parts of it. Nice morning, felt ok.

Friday Aug 23, 2002 #

biking 1:28:00 [3]

With Walter from his place - Rt. 116, Upper Rd. to Greenfield, up S. Shelburne Rd. and back via Bardswell Ferry and Cosby's estate. Legs tired, struggling to keep up on the hills. 21 miles, 1900', more or less.

Thursday Aug 22, 2002 #

trail running 1:13:32 [3] 8.2 mi (8:58 / mi)

Robert Frost loop with Phil. Absolutely would not have made it out the door if we hadn't already scheduled the run. Actually felt not too bad, just slow. In our usual perverse way, the fact that Phil was feeling even worse made the run much easier!

Dew point 63. Sweating like a pig....

Wednesday Aug 21, 2002 #

biking 1:38:46 [3]

Same as Monday, other direction.

Tuesday Aug 20, 2002 #

trail running 47:12 [3] 5.5 mi (8:35 / mi)

Sugar-Gunn loop. Took lots of willpower to get out the door. Felt sluggish on first hill, better on second.

Monday Aug 19, 2002 #

biking 1:40:00 [3]

Lake Wyola-Shutesbury-Leverett. Still warm but not so humid, felt slightly less feeble. 26.7 miles, about 1500'.

Saturday Aug 17, 2002 #

biking 2:14:00 [3]

With Charlie before breakfast from his house to East Hartland, Granville, Granby. Some good hills early on, and one good one at the end, even though we skipped the last big hill up to his house by leaving a car at the bottom (very smart!). 33.2 miles, about 2200' climb. A fun ride, jello legs by the end as usual.

Friday Aug 16, 2002 #

biking 1:17:23 [3]

To Lake Wyola and back, 20.8 miles.

Thursday Aug 15, 2002 #

trail running 30:18 [3] 3.5 mi (8:39 / mi)

Power-line and back.

Wednesday Aug 14, 2002 #

trail running 30:07 [3] 3.5 mi (8:36 / mi)

Power-line and back. Right after breakfast but still warm and very humid.

Tuesday Aug 13, 2002 #

biking 1:18:51 [3]

To Lake Wyola and back, 20.8 mi. Good effort on a hot day.

Monday Aug 12, 2002 #

trail running 30:37 [3] 3.5 mi (8:45 / mi)

Power line and back, rather warm.

Sunday Aug 11, 2002 #

biking 37:50 [3]

10 miles on the back road along the river, flat, nice ride.

Managed to resurrect Gail's bike after 10-15 years of idleness after failing to do the same with mine (the tires wouldn't hold air, among other things).

Will try to do some biking while the hot weather is around.

Saturday Aug 10, 2002 #

trail running 30:37 [3] 3.5 mi (8:45 / mi)

Power-line and back. Training two days in a row, don't know what's gotten into me....

Friday Aug 9, 2002 #

trail running 31:08 [3] 3.5 mi (8:54 / mi)

Power line and back, relaxed pace.

Tuesday Aug 6, 2002 #

biking 2:27:00 [3]

With Walter and a couple others. Conway-Ashfield-Shelburne Falls-Conway. 32 miles, 2000' climb, more or less. First time on a bike (borrowed from Jack) in about a dozen years. Didn't totally croak, but almost....

Saturday Aug 3, 2002 #

trail running 30:59 [3] 3.5 mi (8:51 / mi)

Up to the power line and back, sweating away. First training run in about a month.
