Test run for the shoes I'm thinking of using at Sierre-Zinal, with 25' of running drills (3x uphills with tac-poum, tac-tac and sprints, 1x downhill with long strides, and 3x more static). I feel like my speed is (slowly) increasing and I'm losing a lot of energy when running intervals at 100% VMA, so I took some good resolutions and decided that I should do running drills.

The planned sessions was 8x1000m 85% VMA (3'57") and 4' recuperation, but I've been having tension and pain in my right calf since the intervals on tuesday. I feel like I already know this pain and it reminds me of a contracture on the right calf a few years back, so I took it easy, stopped wearing flip-flops and switched to comfy shoes, stopped running and switched the running intervals to aquarunning intervals.

Note

Met at 9 am at the stadium with one of my athletes, so that he could run a 3000m. He couldn't attend the one the other athletes from the team did this week, so we set up this one this morning. Last spring, he ran 11'4x". Last autumn, he ran 11'2x". Today, he ran 10'53"! I must admit that I was pretty impressed and really happy that he's increasing his pure speed :)

Tough training, but the post-interval swim in the lake was pretty nice! Walked barefoot to get dry, and a kid said out loud "he's trying to start a new style". Wake up kid, the style is already here, and it has been for quite some time! Almost wanted to tell him something about him minding his own damn business... Just kidding :)
