Athletics 1:30:00 [3]

bit of speed work

various exercises

One of them was sprinting with a 9kg bag of sand on my shoulders then dropping it to get an extra burst of pace (would usually use a harness and elastic but there wasnt anyone there doing the same training as me)
anyhow, i absolutely nailed myself on the first one. When i was at full speed i tried to flick the bag off but it slipped and went straight down my back and hit the back of my calf muscle. ouch. felt like someone had booted my legs out from underneath me and i went flying. now got a sore back and leg, hopefully not serious. dont think it is cos i managed to carry on with the rest of the training

wish i saw myself from another angle though, would have looked bloody hilarious

Cape kidnappers run

What a waste of time and money.
Was feeling good as for the first 8km on the sand and was only 100m behind neville smith who won it. then started the climb and was still feeling allright but then all of a sudden felt sick as. i wasnt exhausted or tired just felt real sick. but just continued jogging through TA1. got worse and worse so just started walking for ages. then Anna Fuhrer caught up to me so I jogged along with her for a while. when we got to to TA2 i was going to pull out but she convinced me not too. But then I got worse again and had to keep stopping so I wouldnt throw up. A farmer on his quad saw me and said if i follow this ridgeline i wouldnt have to go down and up the last gorge. So I did that which meant i got a DNF but i wasnt that worried about getting a time at this point anyway. Had to lie down on the side of the track a few times on the way back
Dont know what the hell was wrong with me, it just sucked cos i felt as if i could have ran quite strongly the whole way if i hadnt felt so sick

And didnt even win a spot prize either so that sucked

Went allright except for when i stuffed up my 5th control by runnin too far and fast downhill. then having to go back up this massive climb. Then got into a bit of a panic and stuffed up the next 2controls even worse. but then got back on track again. wasnt really running hard so didnt get very exhausted
