Three Shires Fell Race

Brilliant day and brilliant race!! Feeling good and strong at the start and pushed hard on the hills but legs feeling a bit like jelly at the tops and downs.

Fun start with Jonny leading out, with Jack just behind; with us all taking different routes up Wetherlam. I maybe pushed a bit too hard here, summited first but then paid for it later on.

A little wobbly up prison band but moving okay along the top. Jonny came past with a better line on the descent to the road pass and I reeled him back in up the path to Blisco. Summited first again and by this point we had a big gap to the rest.

Jonny lead down to Lingmoor (due to me feeling weaker and having no idea where to go - would still be there now I think if he wasn't there to how the lines). Started Lingmoor together and this is where the mind games and final efforts began.

I tried to push past to try and out climb him and break him. I thought if i got a gap here I could just hold him off. Alas he was having none of it and was stronger, keeping pace and getting back ahead at the top. Pushing into the red for me also didn't help as once we summited he descended away from me.

A great race from jonny and I was very happy with that. Shows I need a lot more work over the next 6 weeks. Let it begin!

Cruise along the Roaches - reverse to the normal, starting up Hen Cloud, along to Luds church and back.

A few little efforts on the climbs and loving the technical paths.

Feeling really good and fresh but not massively strong. Very happy with it though
