MACCL Boggart Hole - 7th

Very muddy, tough race. Loved it. 1 small lap and 2 large.

Started conservatively in order to work my way through. Was working on the first small lap but not going into the red. Sat in about 13/14th. Started moving forward on the beginning of the first large lap and by the end of it I had got through a lot (post very thick mud/uphill section).

Fighting for 8th with a Horwich lad and playing cat and mouse until the bottom of the hill. Smashed it away from him on the climb and used that and the mud to get me on the back of 7th - taking him in a sprint finish up the last climb.

Good and strong throughout and had more there. Looking forward to the winter to come.

Feeling a bit tight and rough from the session yesterday but definitely benefited from this quick spin.

Much more spritely in the second half

Chorlton Track

Been a while since I've been to Longford Park but felt so good to be on the track with the boys.

Good session and feeling good which helped - Colin was doing the timings so invariably they were a bit off/ random on the rests.

5x 800 (1:30min), (5mins off), 4x 400 (2:30min)

Felt weird to be having such long reps but trusted it and enjoyed being able to really go at it. Played around a bit to begin - sticking at the proper pace, telling myself I have a race on Saturday, thinking too much about how my calves were tightening with every rep.
But then shut my brain up and just went for it - loved it.

Running 40:00 [2] 8.0 km (5:00 / km) +140m 4:36 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 #4 blue/red

Easy steady along a wicked ridge on the edge of the Seven valley. From Beeston Castle going south.

Was losing the light and only wanted a quick spin so kept it light and easy. Felt nice and spritely despite another full day on site

Running warm up/down 25:47 [2] 5.1 km (5:03 / km)

WU 10mins

Calves, hammies and esp soleus very tight on the WD - that was a tough session

Intervals tempo 25:00 [4] 6.9 km (3:37 / km)

Threshold Intervals

On site today in B'ham - got soaked through and was not looking forward to this. Got out despite the rain and ground it out.

Along the canal which was very muddy and slimey - in hindsight, probably good training for XC but was hating it at the time.

Not feeling sharp but legs just kept going so I stuck with it. Seems that I got better throughout.

Running 4:00 [1] 0.5 km (8:00 / km)

Lyme Park - easy steady pace

Boar's Head Fell route from Poynton with an extra loop round the woods to get a 2nd climb up Bowstones.

Moving pretty well and feeling good - kept my pace in check to make sure it was an 'easy' session.
